Ate an edge hard and went face first onto the icy groomer. I smacked my head so hard, but this helmet protected me from what could have been an awful situation. I was slightly concussed after the blow, and the helmet tightness adjustment band broke in half. I give it a 4 stars bc it did protect me, but the helmet cracked after the fall, and it just wasn't a very plush support system. Also, the ear covers do not come close to your ears making it verrrry cold & trying to fit a beanie under there was nearly impossible If you want to make sure your noggin is really surrounded by amazing padding I would opt for one of the more expensive ones.
