Sunday Afternoons Sport Hat
Little more product information? Here you go.
Best sun hat ever!
I bought this hat because we go kayaking a lot, and out on the open water you can get sunburn where you never thought you could! My daughter bought one first, and convinced me to get one. We have gotten so many inquiries from people asking where we got the neat hats, and what a good idea they are. They are light and cool, and give lots of protection from the sun, especially the back of the neck and face. They pack easy and now we never go on a trip without them. Highly recommend!
Design flaw for those without a hairy forehead!
Just began wearing the hat on a daily basis, and up by what some call the widows peaks of a man's hairline i was developing a soreness. And such got worse and worse until i finally discovered why!
The air flow vents on the hat are positioned in such a manner that the sun can freely shine thru unto the bare skin of the forehead next to the hairline ;-( i pity the bald one who would buy this hat!
And another bit of a problem is that your ears are not completely shielded from the sun at any time.
Sure had thought this hat would work for me but turns out it worked against me.
i do not recommend this hat for anyone who is prone to sunburn, yet aren't they the ones who buy the hat? ;-(
I like this hat!
I use this hat for my hiking. It's very lightweight hat and I bring it all the time for my any day hiking.
Traveling the World
I brought this on my backpacking trip through Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and the Cook Islands. The thing saved my dome from burning on multiple hikes, treks (tramps in NZ), Beach days, etc. I got it in Sand cause it looked like the best guys color plus it doesn't show dirt.
Super lightlightweight with a good size adjusting and chinstrap.
In Vietnam a tourist actually offered to buy the hat off my head for $100! I declined since it was right at the start of my trip and I would need it for the rest.
Sunday Afternoons Sports Hat gone to South America...
Well, I had the hat for about a month when my son spotted it... He was heading to South America (Peru and Ecuador) and thought the hat would be useful down there. Didn't think it looked too feminine so he scooped it! Like me, he is quite fair and needed the sun protection, so like any good Mom, I gave it to him. He particularly liked the ample sizing -- the hat was a large and fit his head nicely. It has a cinch strap on the back that allows for a tight custom fit. Now I need to order another one...! Great hat.
Awesome sun protection
I love this hat. It's super lightweight so I can wear it all day. I was captain of the last rest stop on the Mountain Lakes Challenge - a century ride here in Oregon and stood in the sun and amazingly WINDY weather all day - I cinched that sucker down on my head with the adjustment loop and didn't even have to use the chin strap. I also count on the hat for paddling because it protects my neck and the tops of my ears. The sage color looks great on everybody - especially blondes.
I do have to add that I don't recommend folding the hat brim. The brim is made from foam core and will crease permanently, so if you're taking it on your travels - pack it flat.
Sunday Afternoons rep
What is the difference between the Sun...
What is the difference between the Sun Afternoons Sports Hat and the Sunday Afternoons Adventurers Hat other than the back flap on the Adventurers Hat looking a bit longer? THANKS!
Hey K fr NC!
Besides a few color and style differences you pretty much have it pegged. The Adventure hat is just designed to give you a little more coverage.
The Adventure Hat give you a little more coverage on the sides and the back. The Sport hat gives you better peripheral vision on the sides and is a about 3 inch shorter in the back
Is the neck covering removable?
Is the neck covering removable?
Not removable but tucks away so you can rock your ponytail all day long. Keep on rockin' in the free world.
Can you tuck the back part up into the hat...
