did not get what I actually ordered!

I ordered a Black Hat on July 15 ( because black colored hats don't show dirt in our line of work) and was going to order 15 more because of the heat wave here in AZ . Had to go back and forth many times and was given a random tracking # That was for 2 weeks before I even ordered it . Finally got "a" hat today that was NOT the hat I ordered. Came in blue and different style. I was very specific on what I wanted because we have ordered them in the past and we have my company logo put on them here in town. I will keep this one but will not order them again. Was Way to much drama and random tracking order #s. This was a HUGE fail for my company. The "hat" i got is ok but not what I ordered. Not saying these are not good hats< I just DID NOT GET WHAT I ORDERED. Just telling the truth!! was told they will resend my order OR refund and it came in as the wrong hat! Its just a hat I know but was sketchy from the get go. Life goes on.

Outstanding hat!

This resilient hat provided 3 weeks of fantastic prolonged daily sun protection on a recent trip to Jordan, Israel, and Egypt. I love that it's lightweight and packs flat. The material is thin and breathable, and the adjustable chin strap kept it from blowing away on several occasions. The Quartz color stayed fresh in spite of sweaty, dusty conditions, and it has handled its first bath super well.

Great for days in the sun

This hat has a perfect fit that does not block your view while hiking. Protects your neck from the sun so you don't have to worry about getting sun burnt on your neck or re-applying sunscreen. All together this hat is great for another that likes to spent an extended amount of time in the outdoors and in the sun. The top vents breath well for someone that is always overheating. The hat has a sweat band so the whole hat doesn't soak up sweat like most other.

Best Sun hat hands down

My sister and I have always teased my dad for wearing this hat to soccer games, camping, hiking, and in general outdoor activities as we grew up. BUT I tried it on this past summer, and decided that it was time I get in on the sun hat game. This hat is awesome, the brim is super wide, it's well vented, and the back covers your full neck. Honestly can't believe I didn't discover this gem sooner.

Great for a Sunday Afternoon Sail

I bought this hat for my mom, but I was home visiting her last weekend and we went for a sail on an extremely blustery Lake Ontario. I put on her hat (which was a bit small for me)but it worked great. The lanyard allowed me to easily secure it in the gale, and the brim is very versatile. My one complaint would be that since it's a pretty supple brim, it can get flopped up in a stiff wind, which then allows the sun to hit your face.

This is my go-to hat for anytime I set out on an adventure, and it is perfect for a number of climates. The back-adjustable strap makes it easy to tighten and loosen how close it sits to your head, and the back flap velcros up when you do not need it. My favorite feature of this hat is that it breathes extremely well; I wear this in the desert and my head never overheats despite the harsh sun. It is both light and durable, able to fold down and fit in a pack or pocket. A staple hat for anyone who goes adventureing.

If you need shade, comfort and cool functionality all in one, you should just buy this hat. Others will be jealous. Other others will just be sunburned. But you won't. You'll be comfy and cool. A few of my favorite features include the mesh side panels, rear size adjustment and the velcro for folding up the back flap. I went L/XL and it fit my head great. In helmets I am normally an XL. Check out my picture to see the effectiveness this offers

If there is one thing that you can control when you are out adventuring, it's the hat on your head. This hat is my best friend in the desert. I would recommend it to anybody not looking to turn into a crispy sunburn.

Light-Weight, Great Coverage/Protection, floats in water, breathable material. It looks silly, but would you rather look silly for one day on the trail or have sunburn on your face peeling skin for 3 week? This hat gives you great sun protection even the back of the neck which is very great not alot of hats over protection for the neck. The hat is so light-weight you won't even notice it on your head. Works great in hot weather because of the breathablity material its made from and the sweat moisture head band keeping the sweats out of your eye. Definitely try in store before you buy online. Better to get a perfect fit than wrong size online.

I used this on a recent trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. This hat kept the sun out of my eyes and off the side of my face. The end of my nose did get burned surprisingly. In the wind make sure you have the strap in place as it will blow off your head. I found the hat light and comfortable and will use it often when I'm outside around the house too.

Small fits 20"-21". It should be perfect for you. A medium would be too loose and blow off with every gust.

The hats run bigger then I thought they would so get a small. The elastic in back helps. I got a medium but I will get a small next time.

My parents are going to Africa for a safari in May and they requested safari hats for Christmas. Is this material too heavy to be good for that kind of activity or is there another hat you would recommend instead?

Hey there, yeah this is definitely the style you want, brimmed with a drop back to cover the neck... I personally like the versions with built in bug repellent... also this one doesn't describe any SPF rating...

Not at all. The side panels are mesh (read: made of holes), so you really can't expect them to keep water out.

The fabric is DWR coated so it is water repellent. It works pretty well in the rain, both front brim and back neck cape. However there are ventilation panels and it is not waterproof so it is clearly not a rain hat.
