Vying for the crown.
At its unveiling in 2013, the frameset at the heart of Storck's Aernario Platinum/Shimano Ultegra 11 Complete Bike was singled out as the greatest frame in the world by one of Germany's most prominent cycling publications. This kind of hyperbolic praise is definitely noteworthy, and it caught our attention across the pond. By adopting aerodynamic elements from Storck's heavily shaped time trial bikes and the basic build and ride quality elements of the line-topping Fascenario models, the Aernario Platinum may not be the best bike ever, but it certainly makes a strong, enthusiastic case for the crown.
For the Aernario's frame, Storck used Computer Flow Dynamics to tease aerodynamic tube shapes out of a geometry that balances the low-weight aggression of compact frames with a nod to the more cantankerous, classic-geometry purists among us. Though it's subtle, the wind-dodging design is inherited from Storck's time trial frames, so it's both invisible to the eye and the wind. And since the module's overall shape and design borrow heavily from the Fascenario 0.7, the aerodynamic benefits don't come with the usual tradeoff of poor handling and unforgiving road feel.
When viewing the frame from the side, it looks like a traditional road frame. However, if you were to take a cross section, its aero shape would become strikingly evident. These shapes are laid-up with Storck's own CFR/UD (unidirectional) carbon fiber. This curated material is the main reason why Storck has so many BOTY awards from the German cycling industry, as the unidirection orientation of the fibers mean that the sheets can be situated for targeted load-bearing properties. This lets Storck stiffen the frame without sacrificing damping qualities and — paradoxically — while using less material for a lower overall weight.
The Aernario Platinum features a massive, oversized PressFit BB86 bottom bracket juncture in order to boost power transfer even further, and the seatstays connect below the seatpost clamp to a box junction that effectively dispels road noise and increases vertical compliance while boosting lateral rigidity. The tubes themselves are specially shaped and measured for each different size, spreading different dimensions, wall thicknesses, tube diameters, and tapering across the line to ensure that smaller riders aren't stuck with a harsh ride and larger riders don't end up on a noodly flex machine.
The Aernario Platinum's build kit complements the frame's do-it-all pedigree with a full Shimano Ultegra drivetrain and HED wheels. The combination of Shimano's most versatile groupset and the limitless C2 platform of the Ardennes rims takes advantage of the Aernario's durability, low weight, and stiff efficiency to transition without hesitation from long, grinding climbs and sweeping descents to chip seal chaos to rubbing elbows during sprints on buttery-fresh tarmac. The frame is finished with Storck's own Stiletto 340 fork, the descendent of the storied Stiletto fork that first taught us that low-weight, unreliability, and discomfort don't always come hand-in-hand.

- Q & A
This is one of the better high end road bikes we offer. Extremely well rounded and comfortable it lacks for nothing. These are custom builds so components and be changed or swapped.
