    Left and Right

Bought some of these socks, and loved them so much I bought more. I don't like when my socks have weird seams, or fit strangely, so it helps that these are foot specific. Just make sure you look and read before you pair your socks...

      Best ankle sock

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

It's hard to find hiking socks that are ankle length, half the time they are falling down or too thin. These socks are true to size, don't bunch up or fall down, and are not too thin or too thick. They're a good color so if they get dirty it's not too noticeable either!

      THE sock for hiking

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: medium

Ever have an ankle sock that you think is going to be perfect for hiking? But once out on the trail it starts to slip down your foot and exposes your heel, only to make you susceptible to an Achilles blister? these socks have a built in tight ankle that makes for a little squeeze to get over your heel but once you've got them on... they're stayin up. No blisters here!!! excellent breathability!! is there a sock of the year award?

      good choice

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I've used the Stoic snowboard/ski socks in the past and I liked them. So I thought I would get some trail socks. These are OK for around the house/town socks. But I'm not too stoked on them for hiking/active stuff. I find them feeling weird when I sweat. I may try the merino for outdoor lifestyle.

      Love Stoic socks

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

These are my third purchase of Stoic socks and I love them. I wanted something low-cut for the summer and these fit the bill perfectly.

Wet or dry, they're comfortable. They last for ages and I get compliments on their colour scheme.

      OK

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: M/L

Decent socks, unless you're running or hiking long distances. The merino version is far less abrasive and retains elasticity far better than the synthetic version. I'd recommend the merino version, but not the synthetic.

The stitching for the Stoic emblem on the bottom of the sole is poorly placed. The socks tend to rotate inwards underneath, so that the emblem is under your first metatarsal head. This causes me blisters after running 5k to 10k.

      Cool socks.

I got these on sale and was totally worth it.. Plan on ordering more. They have cushioning in all the right places, while still being breathable. The only downside is they like to collect a bunch of floor junk (hair, leave pieces, ect.) would recommend though.

Hold up better than the wool version

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I've got a couple pairs of these in both the synthetic fabric and in wool. These ones seem to hold up better over the long run than the wool sock since they don't start to shed or pill. These also don't slide around in your shoes nearly as much as the wool versions. For whatever reason they pick up and hold a TON of floor junk. Even after coming out of the wash they've got a bunch of hair and gunk that sticks to them. Not a huge issue for me but something to be aware of if you have a dog in your house

        Dry and fine

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

Socks are great, keeps my feet comfy and really dry. Only drawback is that they are a little short and didn't cover my entire heel. If i didn't pull them up I would have gotten a blister.

        Good sock

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

Good socks, but the merino ones lasted longer. My wife tends to wear her socks out very fast (or maybe I just wear mine out very slowly?), and she felt the merino wool ones were more durable. But the fit and feel of the synthetic keeps her feet the right temp.

        Good socks

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

These, as opposed to the full wool counterpart, stayed true to size after washing. I went with the smaller size because I wear 8-9 shoes and have skinny feet. I wear them often with no complaints yet, and I love the cut. They don't hardly show above shoes, but the front part protects from rubbing.

I'm an 11.5. I have a pair of L/XL merino trail no-shows and a pair of M/L synthetics. I'm not sure how they're supposed to fit though, on the L/XL the sock is comfy and covers the bottom nubs of my tibia and fibula at the ankle joint. The M/L socks are much more snug and do not cover that protrudence; are they supposed to? I rather like the merino but they werent available in my size on sale when I bought them. Should I return the M/L and wait for L/XL? There is no size range noted for L/XL on the Stoic sizing chart.

How would these compare to Drymax Trail...

How would these compare to Drymax Trail socks? I've been using the Drymax for a few weeks and love them... I am just looking for an easier on the wallet trail sock.
