The pockets

For the price, this is an awesome pullover and half the price if you're going for the patagonia look. It's slightly more fitted through the arms and has a loose, but not baggy fit around the mid section. Pretty comfortable to wear. The pockets might drive you insane though because as the reviews say, they are awkwardly placed way to the sides. The pockets kind of create a boxier mid section and is exaggerated if you put your hands in them. It's like if you were to put your hands in a typical sweater and pushed them forward. Otherwise, the material slightly layers around your waist when relaxed. If you can get over the minor cosmetic awkwardness then this pullover is worth it.

I actually thought this looked great, then my boyfriend put it on and I could not believe how bad the pockets looked. I was killing myself laughing. They are right on the side seams so they pooch out and are super unflattering. It was hilarious, but short of sewing them closed, they are not a good design choice.

I bought this as a basic keep me warm pullover versus a jacket or hoodie. Fits that bill as expected. Nothing special to knock about the shirt, also nothing that stands out above something else. It's exactly what I expected for the price I paid.

This pullover has useless pockets that make the midsection look super loose fitting. Really wish they would have thought this through when they designed it. Arms and chest fit true to size.

Not Quality

I was optimistic with some of the reviews, but I got this product and it was sub-par. It was tight against my shoulders, and more importantly it was scratchy against my neck and arms. DO NOT Waist your money. Backcountry has other quality products, this is not one of them.

Warmer than expected, as warm as a thick fleece sweater. Fit is good on me, good sleeve length, width, nick width, and cut on torso is right on. I'm usually between a small and medium, the small fits me well, so nice to find something that runs 1/2 size larger.

From the pictures I thought it would have been much thicker/warmer it's pretty thin.. It's also more of a standard cut good fit around chest baggy around the waist.

Great product for the price. Can be worn with slacks or jeans. Good transitional sweater. It’s not overly warm but retains enough body heat to keep you warm in temps above 30. Overall very pleased.

Killer Value and Quality

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

Bought this in the Forest Green color in a size medium, it runs relatively true to size. There was one instance where i was sitting at the dinner table with my family and my father was wearing the Patagonia version and my brother in law was wearing the Marine Layer version. Both of those cost several times as much as mine, and we had a very hard time telling the difference in terms of quality. Definitely a great value, and looks great.

Awesome quilted piece I prefer it has no logo over other brands, so soft and cozy and great fit!

Love this for casual wear. It is super warm and soft. What I love most about this product is its price! Similar products are super expensive in other brands. No complaints at all.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my father-in-law. He LOVES it. It looks and feels nearly identical to the Patagonia one my husband bought for himself a few years ago but for a way better price. He barely took it off the entire weekend!

I bought this for my brother - he is 5'10 and 180 lbs and I got him a Medium. He loves the fit and look of this. The collar is great and not too high. A great alternative to the Patagonia Quilted Sweater.

Why isn't there a female version of this jacket? I would buy it in a heartbeat, but even the small in men's is too big. I don't understand why Stoic would only make a male version.

Hi Dana, While I don't have an answer for why Stoic doesn't make a women's version of this pullover, we do carry some other women-specific quilted pullovers. https://www.backcountry.com/stoic-diamond-quilted-knit-pullover-womens https://www.backcountry.com/patagonia-cotton-quilt-snap-t-pullover-sweatshirt-womens Let me know if either those catch your eye and I would be happy to set up an order for you. You can reach me at mbova@backcountry.com or 801-619-7490. Cheers, Mike

I'm 6' tall with a 6'1" reach. I usually have to buy a Large in order to get a long enough sleeve. This results in a less than ideal body fit since I'm more of a medium in body size. Is the arm length on this pullover less than average, average, or longer?
