A comfortable lightweight vest that is warm, comfortable and useful for additional warmth. Good price, too. I am 5’8” 175 and the medium fits well. I have two different colors of this vest and like them both.

Way too big, and way too long

I followed the sizing chart, and bought a medium as instructed, (nothing out of the ordinary, as I wear a medium for pretty much everything else too), and when I received it and tried it on, it was down past my butt, and was baggy even over a heavy hooded sweatshirt. Not impressed that I'm charged for return shipping...

We are very sorry for the fit issue. If you want to contact our customer service, we can gladly remove the return shipping fee.

If you are a bigger person this brand might be great. But, it is not labeled a Big and Tall brand and I while I am tall, I am lean.

Good layer, but one issue

I bought this as a layer for running during the winter. It does a good enough job of providing core warmth without being too warm. It is fairly thin and light, which is a god thing. However, the one problem I've had is that the bottom of the zipper does not stay together. This has happened several times. It does not have a dual-zipper to allow it to open up from the bottom. The vest is zipped up, but the zipper splits from the bottom and takes a bit of doing to get the zipper pull to line the two sides up correctly and unzip the vest.

This vest may not draw many compliments at the artisanal cocktail bar, but it gets the job done on the mountain. Combined with a light base layer, my Ibex midweight hoodie, my NF synthetic lightweight puffy, and a good 3-layer shell, I have lots of options that support anything from a warm Spring day to below-zero and blowing. Very light and packable. For $28 on sale, it was a no brainer. Maybe a little roomy, but close enough for "true to size".

Great layering vest. Maybe not as full as you’d expect. But excellent piece for the price.

A Great and Simple Vest

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. This vest is not flashy or overly complex, but it is a great option to add another layer or add some depth to an outfit. I appreciate the simplicity of it and its ability to keep me warm, which is what you should expect from a puffy vest. The synthetic insulation is made from recycled material, which is always a plus, but it also does a decent job of keeping your core warm for how much material is actually there. This vest is not super puffy, so it actually makes a great inner layer underneath an outer jacket or sweatshirt and adds enough warmth without feeling like you have a ton of layers on. It also works great over a flannel or sweater for a nicer look when out getting dinner or hitting up the beer gardens on a chilly fall afternoon. The inside also has a pocket which is a nice feature for a wallet or even your phone. The build quality is good, and the stitching seems like it can handle some abuse. Overall, it is a simple vest and at its price, you should not be expecting something crazy, but it is a great option if you’re looking to add a puffy vest to your wardrobe.

Is the Stoic Puffer vest real think and puffy or is it thinner like the Northface Thermoball?
