So yes, the zippers on the sides don't work at all. But for $40, this is a great jacket. If you can get over the zipper thing, its great. The front upper chest zipper works ok, and the main zipper works fine. I wanted a jacket that looked cool and was warm that i could throw on while running errands. This fit the bill perfectly. I thought the fit was just about perfect. It is true to size, unless you are used to buying snowboard jackets from Volcom or other younger brands that are getting very oversize. I am 6'0" 175 and need to wear mediums in the gangster brands. I bought this in a Large and it is just right.

Zipper is difficult to get started. Worst / major flaw is the fact that the lining of the sleeves & hoodie is basically free floating (not attached to rest of jacket) and moves around independently. For instance, when you slide your arms into the sleeves of the jacket, the lining will come out of the far end with your hands. You will see all of this loose material out by your hands and need to tuck it back into the sleeve. Same goes with the hoodie. You might have some inside lining out by your eye and need to tuck it back in. The insulation is heavy and a bit on the poor side. On the flip side this is a great jacket for the price. I wish some company would help me buy 100 of these for the homeless here in the city.

I love this jacket! The zipper was a little sticky when I first got it, but it has been working just fine after some normal use. Maybe it just needed to break in? It is really lightweight all things considered and super warm. At the price, cannot be beat.

Broken Zipper

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

True to size

I purchased this jacket and within a week the front zipper broke a third of the way down. Now I cannot fully zip the jacket. While the zipper worked it kept me very warm, but without the ability to zip the coat up all the way , its not that effective.

I am 5'9" , 150 and the medium fits over a light fleece and under my shell. The zippers aren't that bad. I like the fit of the jacket and the hood. I have used it for field work and dog hikes in the St. Lawrence valley of NY in the 40s down to zero today. I am here to order a second one, different color. Under $50 can't beat it.

I originally bought the first jacket, and before I even took the tags off I noticed one of the pockets would not open. I returned that jacket in exchange for one of the same, thinking that it was a fluke. The new jacket came, only to discover that after about a month I had the same issue with the second jacket, only this time the pocket got stuck shut with my truck keys in it. I had to cut a hole on the inside of the jacket so I could get my keys out and get home from the Walmart, there was no way I was pulling that zipper open without blowing the seams out around it. The jacket itself is warm and comfortable as a mid layer. Stoic needs to rethink the zipper situation though, even the main zipper is a constant struggle to zip up and down. Not worth the purchase. I'll be getting a hold of Backcountry.com and Stoic to see what they can do to refund a practically brand new jacket.

I got this Jacket #1 for the price. To expect anything more than warmth from a down looking jacket at a sub 100 mark u must believe in the tooth fairy. With that said. I will not b mtn biking in this Jacket. I will not b skiing in this Jacket. I will not be takin this Jacket on long hikes. It's Not Packable. It's Not a water shedder..It's Not Breathable........it is a old fashion warm jacket for a great price. This Jacket is PERFECT for putting on AFTER all those activities. When u want to walk to the bar or take the pups for a spin when the temps fall. U do not have to layer up. This Jacket is like a sleeping bag u do not wanna take off.

I guess I was expecting more from a In-house brand. Imagine the cheapest Walmart sleeping bag made for kids. Yes this has the same look and feel.

I bought these for my kids due to the $60 price point, but when we received them the quality just was not there at all. The pockets and the back of the neck had a felt like fabric that was scratchy and not soft. It looked as if the neck piece was an afterthought. We have purchased jackets from Columbia at this price point and they were way better.
