    Laidback and cross functional

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 36
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 190lbs

I bought these as a gift for my boyfriend and they rule! We went hiking out to the beach and the lake with them. He was able to move freely and go in the water with the stretch fabric. They were light and breathable as well. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4 star instead of 5 is because the string on the inside already broke but he was wearing them practically all week putting it through the Oregon elements.

    Favorite Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

These are possibly my favorite casual (but still technical!) shorts. Fashionably cut, muted pattern, and comfortable as all hell. I think the hatch pattern looks great on the Navy and Grey, but a little too visible in the Khaki for my tastes.

Sizing is pretty spot on but maybe a hair small? I'm usually a 31 and the 32 seems to fit like a 31 would.

    Run Small!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

These shorts are awesome. Very comfortable, but they run small. I ordered a 34 because I have other Stoic short in size 34 that fit really well. These arrived, and I can barely button them. They're much smaller.

    Love these shorts

These lightweight, stretch shorts are a go to in my wardrobe now. The fit is just right, above the knee and breathable. Perfect shorts for Summer, vacations and weekends.

    New favorite golf shorts!

These are super light and the material stretches quite a bit. I ordered the navy color and after trying them out I had to order the khaki color. The navy is pretty true to the picture here but the khaki has some predominant lines that you really can't see in the picture but still look pretty good. The internal drawstring is a really nice feature and just the overall stretch of the material makes these killer shorts to do pretty much any activity!

    I like these

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 36
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 210lbs

The fabric is great. Super comfortable and breathable. I will say true to size, but I could have went up a size.

    why bother putting sizes?

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XXL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 270lbs

I wear a 38 in jeans, but knowing shorts always seem to run small, I ordered XXL, which according to the chart, should be 40-43. I ordered 2 pair, they sent me 38's, which are really like 36's. Super bummed, I really like the shorts, the fabric and cut were exactly what I was looking for. I wish that instead of listing them in sizes, S - XXL, and having you reference a sizing chart that would ultimately be thrown out the window, that they would have listed them as they are actually sized, in inches. I'm hoping backcountry can get it right and send me the size I ordered...
