The best part of long summer days is having the freedom to get outside and hit the trail straight from the office, and having gear that can handle both of these duties helps streamline the process. So we made the Active Stretch Short with a construction that's just as breathable and stretchy as a pair of running shorts, but with a sleek design that replicates a pair of chinos for office days.

No belt loops, seriously?
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

In the product description it says there are belt loops. Well, there aren?t any. What pants or shorts don?t have belt loops? These are basically useless. They run really large too, size down.

Send it into Summer!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I put these shorts on and onsighted two 5.10's at the gunks. Some might say coincidence, but it didn't feel like one! What I can say for sure is that the shorts provide the right balance of comfort and flexibility while maintaining the number one rule (look good). I bought several more pairs to use for hiking, climbing, and more casual pursuits this summer. Note for sizing I often wear a 30, but after trying these on I dropped down to a 28, so that the waist band sits just above my harness and the shorter section of fabric on my legs frees them up for high feet and heel hooks.
