A thoughtful design for a comfortable, worry-free float.

Built with a women-specific shape that delivers just the right amount of squeeze, the Stohlquist Women's Flo Personal Flotation Device is a great option for recreational paddlers. Built with thoughtful features like Stohlquist's innovative cinch-strap system and loads of mesh for enhanced breathability and comfort, the Flo makes a great addition to paddle kit.

    • Women-specific design features a curved shelf that delivers a better fit and a less restrictive feel
    • Lightweight design uses PE foam for flotation, an outer shell of 420D nylon ripstop, and an inner liner of 210D material
    • Mesh lower back area further reduces weight and won't interfere with your boat's lumbar support
    • Tightening the Stohlquist upper cinch strap lowers the PFD's front, raises its back, and draws the foam panels closer to your body for a supremely comfortable fit
    • Padded shoulder straps enhance comfort
    • Front pockets stash extra calories, river maps, and a compass with ease
    • Bottom strap made from neoprene so it won't dig into your skin

    Super comfy for paddling

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love that this lifevest has large arm holes so that you don't feel like you're chafing all day while paddling. My other favorite feature is the mesh back so that when you lean back against the kayak seat, you don't end up feeling suffocated by the vest getting pushed up. I would highly recommend this!

    What I Wanted!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I exchanged the Stohlquist Edge for this jacket, the Stohlquist Flo. This is a much better jacket for a woman. Even at 5'0, 115 lbs., 34" bust, I needed a women's style in order to feel comfortable. Despite being short, I let the shoulder straps out a little extra in the front to get the contour to fit me just right. There is still plenty of room to adjust and wear a jacket underneath. I am strictly a recreational paddler, but I live on a very cold, deep lake in MN, so I bought the orange for visibility. I hope to have a few more nice fall days to enjoy this great PFD before the cold weather arrives.

    Great for a Rec. Paddler.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had one of these for a couple years and it is pretty adjustable and will give you a great fit. But after I got more into white water kayaking... there was some problems that I just couldn't get past. But all and all it's not really for white water anyways.

But when I was first learning how to do an Eskimo Roll. I found that it sits to high on my back. And that caused a few problems after you roll you kayak over. Don't get me wrong it did it's job very well and made me float to well. So well that with it sitting to high on my back instead of holding me up right and against my kayak so I could preform an eskimo roll it pinned me against the back of my kayak.

But if your only looking to do rec. paddling it's great. But if you do a little bit of both like I do then your better off going for an edge or decent. Both of which I have used.

    Why did I get orange?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Orange is a horrible color on me and I'm really not a fan of the flower patterns. Other than the look of this life jacket, the only other complaint I have is that the zipper can be a bit tricky to zip up.

    Perfect vest.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am 5'2 and about 125 lbs. I ordered a M/L and it fits perfect. Comfortable, not too bulky. I use it several times a week and have not actually been in the water with it (like where I need it to perform to save my butt), but it has a nice secure fit - designed for a woman - I am confident this will perform well.

    Comfortable fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The three most important features of a PFD are fit, comfort and performance. I can attest that his jacket meets all three; while kayaking the fit and comfort are so amazing you don't realize you have it on - until you need it!

    Great PFD for women

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After trying on a couple of other PFDs and having to send the first I ordered back to Backcountry because they all just didn't fit my fairly small female frame, I am very happy with this vest. It has enough adjustments to fit snugly without smashing my breasts, and yet the arms offer plenty of room for paddling my kayak without rubbing anywhere. I ordered an extra small with some concern, but it turned out to be just the right size. I weigh about 122, am 5' 2", and have a medium-sized bosom, just for guidance to other women my size. The only thing I wish were different is the size of the pockets, which are pretty small and flat with little room for expansion. I like the purple color;the bits of flower embroidery, although not at all important to me, are kind of fun. More importantly, the vest seems well made and likely to hold up well. I have had it only a few weeks, however, so time will tell on that. Would definitely recommend this PFD.

    Great vest

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This vest is a nice deep purple, and very comfortable. The sides are pretty much open and the front tapers down nicely so that it is very comfortable to wear while kayaking. My previous vest rode up all the time and rubbed against my arms. This one does not do that at all. Lots of straps for adjustments and a perfect fit. Love the higher back, doesn't interfere with the kayak seat. The front felt a little bulky when I first tried it on, but that is not an issue at all. And it's "anatomically correct" for women making it even more comfortable! I highly recommend this.

    Nice PFD!

my girlfriend loves her new PFD! She wore it on the Green River as soon as she got it. It does not feel as puffy as some PFD's can feel and it has enough style to actually feel she's cute in it! She is a 30 inch chest and the XS/S fits perfectly. There is a lot of room for adjustments with several different straps.
