CanyonPrime Canyoneering Rope

Sterling geared the CanyonPrime Canyoneering Rope with beginner-friendly handling and a price point that help starter canyoneers get into the sport. Its skinny diameter feels light and compact in your backpack, and it has a soft hand to give you better friction while you rappelling. Constructed with 100% polyester, the CanyonPrime's water-resistance reduces water absorption to maintain a lighter weight in wet situations, and even when it does get wet, it'll dry quickly for next day's adventure.

great for anchor building

I've put it through the wringer

My climbing buddy owns this rope. We use it to extend natural anchors (from trees, natural features) for top roping in New England (rock climbing). The abrasion resistance and strength are superior to accessory cord and excellent for building anchors. Not unusual to have trees 20 to 30 feet back from the cliff edge.

Good rope, just beware the diameter

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is a great Rope, I'm from Mexico and we don't get these brand that easy. It is a very convenient rope due to the low weight and the static characteristics. Just beware that this rope is very thing compared to the majority of the market, I would recommend using a rappel device that allows you to introduce more friction to control better your descend. That would be my only advice on how to use it properly. Overall the rope looks great, love the color.

Excellent rope to have when you need it

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I don't know anything about canyoning. Never done it. I do know about rigging and emergencies, and when it comes to those this is good stuff to have in the arsenal. It's light enough to carry enough to matter, and strong enough to trust when needs must. Would I use this when I know I may whip? No. And when abseiling with no support, doubling up is my preferred option. But for continuous load situations it's plenty good, in my opinion. And if it's the only rope you have it's way better then no rope at all, and the rope you're most likely to have is the rope which weighs the least. In my experience anyway. It's also my opinion that 100' of rope is the bare minimum worth carrying if you're gonna carry rope. And 100' of this stuff is very light. Relatively speaking.
