Turn it up. Don’t break the bank.

Going to eleven is rad; SRAM’s 11-speed mountain bike drivetrains are popular for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is their near-inability to drop a chain. However, until the release of the X1 group, getting a SRAM 11-speed drivetrain required a bit of financial finagling. Not so any more, and this X1 Chain is a perfect example. It lacks the Hard Chrome treatment of the XX1 chain, but functions at a similar level. .

Works great with a long lifespan

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

11 speed SRAM chains are my go-to on my 11 speed mountain bike. They tend to last longer than Shimano chains in my experience so I use these with my Shimano drivetrain. Not the lightest but it is strong!

Great chain and great price too!

It does what a good chain should do hahahaha! Keeps my wheels cranking. Feels solid and was easy to cut down to size and install. If you need an 11 speed chain this is the one to get. Maybe not the lightest chain out there, but if you take care of it it will last you a long time!

I've logged about 400 miles on this chain and with routine maintenance and care she'll continue to perform for you.

Occasionally, I will notice some squeaking from the chain and cassette, but after a nice wash a solid lubrication session this chain is built to last.

I tend to go through a couple chains per season, but depending on how often you ride you may be looking at sticking with one or going with three. Always more affordable to replace your chain than your whole drive train.

    Durable, essential and affordable.

SRAM’s GX component group is no slouch. Sure, it may not be as light and loaded with Carbon this and Titanium that, like SRAM’s XX1 and XO1 group, but if you are after a 1X Shifting group that just plain works and does not break the bank, then this is for you. Functionally you would be hard pressed to discern the difference between the GX and the XX1 in a blind test, weight is another story though, especially with the cassette being a pinned steel cassette, rather than the alloy work of art that is the XO1 and XX1 cassette.

Can't beat the value for the price point. Sure, its not the lightest, but why spend triple the price on a few grams. Go ride your bike.

    Keep on pedaling!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As it has been stated, this chain is reliable, awesome, and way more affordable than its shiny XX1 brother. I am a fan of the stealth look of this chain and most certainly its price!

Can't go wrong with this chain as it is everything you need and nothing you don't. Save you pennies and get one today!

    Love the Powerlink

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Powerlink isn't new. It has been around for a long long time. However, for some reason Shimano has yet to adapt it. Why? Not sure. They enjoy living in the past I suppose.

This chain shifts well, is durable, and comes with a Powerlink. This allows you to remove your chain easily so you can clean your chain and bike, or perform maintenance. I highly doubt you will regret buying this chain.
