Get in sync.
It’s no surprise that with the launch of its ground-breaking one-by 12-speed Eagle drivetrain, SRAM also introduces a reworking of its X-Sync chainrings. Building on the original X-Sync's renowned chain retention ability, the X-Sync 12-Speed Direct Mount Chainring changes things up with claims of even better chain control. As with the original design, each tooth is CNC-machined to support the chain's inner- and outer-link widths by providing a variable thickness from tooth-to-tooth, so the chain and chainring essentially lock together as you pedal and push away mud with ease.
The departure in design lies in the tooth shape. Where the original X-Sync teeth took on a boxy shape, X-Sync 2 is narrower to accommodate the 12-speed Eagle chain and features teeth that more closely resemble those of a shark. Boasting aggressive profiling, these teeth hold the chain securely in place like a megaton aquatic predator latching onto a precisely thrown oxygen tank, then let it to glide seamlessly back to the cassette for smooth, friction-free turns.
The beauty of this new profile isn't just in its chain retention ability. It mimics the wear profile seen in the original X-Sync teeth for increased durability, and it features specific edge shaping to prevent chain suck over time. The direct-mount interface also makes swapping out rings a breeze, giving quick flexibility to adapt to different shapes of terrain.
- A one-by chainring for SRAM's new Eagle 12-speed groups
- 6mm offset for ideal chainline with standard hubs
- Updated tooth profile provides confident chain retention
- Direct-mount interface makes changing rings a breeze

Go big or go home
Replacing my 32T with a 34T so that I can use my granny gear more often and charge the fast sections harder. This thing does what is expected and I haven't had an issue yet.

With the new 12 speed drivetrains you can run larger rings up front and still get an easier granny gear than you did with your older 11 speed set up. Why the heck not?

Run a large ring if you can
Running a 34 on my tallboy and it barley clears. I enjoy pushing larger gears and would have probably gone with a 36 if I could fit it. Great ring so far, no complaints.

I actually really like the new design of the X-Sync chainring. Generally feels like the new tooth design clings onto the chain really well and helps prevent chain drop.

Grips your chain like a Talon
The updated X-Sync chainring is designed to grip your chain like Eagle talons on flesh.

The new X-Sync ring has been improved over the original and it shows. I used this on an XX1 11speed and it performs perfectly.

Hey Javier, yes this will have the same Sram direct mount pattern and as long as you had a direct mount, it will be compatible with your XX1 BB30 crankset. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help - feel free to reach me at 801.204.4547 or email@example.com. Cheers, Connor

Will this ring mount to an XX1 11-speed crankset? Seems like it should but I wanted to confirm. Thanks.
