This is one of the jazzier winter coats on the market (as far as I've seen in my price range.) I don't know what's going on with the manufacturers of ladies outdoor wear, but they are not taking color and pattern into consideration--the colors are so boring!
However, as jazzy as this coat is it is not for winter sports. It's for around town. I wished I knew that before I purchased because I work outdoors at a football stadium in middle TN. If I'm posted on the East side of the stadium, I freeze. That's why I purchased this coat because my 30 yr.+ North Face winter shell jacket is too bulky for the job (we have to wear company jackets over our layers.)
I'm going to have to layer this puppy. My litmus test for a jacket is wearing it into a store on a cold day. If I burn up and want to strip naked, then it's worthy of staying out in the cold all day. This one had me quite comfy while I went shopping. It's like a sweatshirt. I ordered a Large. I'm 5'6". 45" hips (I know.) 37" bust. I do like the pockets!
