2FO ClipLite Mountain Bike Shoe
Out of every 2FO mountain bike shoe from Specialized, the 2FO ClipLite Mountain Bike Shoe is the premier choice for downhill and trail performance. It has the same professional-level platform as the same shoe worn by Specialized downhill and trail racers, except the dual Boa dials add a quicker, easier, and chainring-friendly fit. The two-bolt cleat pattern has an extended length (4mm) for rearward cleat setups, and the Specialized Landing Strip assists with foot-out riding. The shoe's midsole is stiff for high-performance pedaling, and there's a layer of EVA to soften landings. Specialized also made the 2FO ClipLite with the Body Geometry sole construction that aligns your hips, knees, and feet to reduce the chance of injury and boost your power.

The shoe looks great out of the box; all nice and white, but don't expect that to last long. As you can guess anyway. Still, with some cleaning they look find from a few yards away. Importantly, They have the look and feel of sneakers with most of the performance of a hard core cycling shoe, but with the BOA closures you're still in a cycling shoe. There's good arch support in this shoe, and it took me some time to get used to that as I hardly have an arch at all. I like the BOA knobs which you can crank down on pretty hard, and the shoes come off easily. I wear an 11 1/2 in a New Balance sneaker, and purchased size 46 in this shoe. They are just the slightest bit too large; perhaps only the width of a sock. But I'm actually glad about that, as I won't have a problem through the late Fall (here in New York City) because I can wear a nice thick pair of wool socks. I don't regret the purchase.
