I bought these for a ski trip to Telluride, and they were really great for a day of snowmobiling through the mountains or just walking through Mountain Village. My feet are narrow and I generally wear 8.5-9, but I could have sized down to 8 with these boots. The toe area is very wide and roomy but the shaft with the laces is a little tight to get them on and off quickly. The color is more khaki than the image shows, but I was very impressed with all of the detailing for the price. Overall, they were great, and I look forward to wearing them many more times.

Got these and I am so glad I did. I bought 1/2 size bigger Went snowshoeing in Montana and these babies saved my toes. Did not feel the negative degrees on my feet and allowed me to have fun in the snow. Super comfortable too!!

I absolutely love these boots! They are very much protected in the snow and importantly they are comfortable to wear. Would recommend these to anyone that lives somewhere where it snows a bit and wants to still look cute.

I actually found these boots to run a smidge too big. Depending on what style of shoe/boot we're talking about, I wear 7 US to 8 US (38/39 EU). I like a wide toe box in everything and I like Keen in a 7.5. I bought a pair of the Joan of Arctic for my daughter and was told that they were true to size with some room for a bulky sock. This led me to order an 8 for myself which, with that bulky sock, I expected to be a good fit. I found that as much as I wanted these boots to fit, they were simply too big. Width-wise they were fitted through the forefoot, and the toe box was roomy. However, I could not stop my foot from sliding forward. I am returning for a half size smaller, and hope that will do the trick. I did not notice any issues with the shaft with regard to fit on the calves. I'm not as thin as I once was, but I've yet to reach cankle stage. The upper shaft fit fine, and the lower shaft, as with a lot of tall boots is more difficult to really snug down if that is how you like your fit. A few good words about the aesthetic. They are a great-looking boot as is frequently noted. They are narrow where the shaft meets the foot, as mentioned by another reviewer, but you most certainly don't have to be flat-footed to get these boots on. You will not be stepping into or kicking off these boots. The waterproof Duck Boot foot styling would be overwhelmingly ridiculous without the balance of the tall shaft and 'fur' collar. They are likely going to be a bit clunky if you're going to try and do in-the-snow work/hiking/chores, but independent review state this is a warm and waterproof boot. Another thing to point out is the heel. Photos of this boot, and a lot of Sorel models, depict the heels in a way that may cause concern for some. I was worried because I've had Sorel in the past with a heel that just made the boot unwieldy and uncomfortable, forcing a lot of pressure onto the ball of the foot. The heel would also be somewhat of a hazard where rocks and roots and sticks were concerned. The heel on these boots is much more integrated into the sole and not as high as it looks. Im not comfortable with the 3-star rating as I can't speak to the functionality of the boots, but 4 stars also seems too much for the same reason. Bottom line is that these boots are worth checking out.

I wear a 9-9.5. I ordered a 9.5 and they weren’t WAY too tight. My toes were just pushing into the end enough when I walked to be uncomfortable and annoying. I’ll be ordering a 10 and expect them to fit perfect! Plus, I’ll have just a touch more room for thick/fuzzy socks 🙌🏼. These boots are SO much more comfy and seem to be much better made than I anticipated.

Not for people with a high instep :(

Familiarity:

These boots are gorgeous but have a major flaw. the tongue doesn't open far enough down the top of the foot and the construction of this shoe has no give to get the shoe on easily if you have a high instep/arch in your foot. I imagine flatfooted folks would have little issue, but it was a literal pain to get these on despite removing the shoe laces completely. The seam on the top where the tongue and the toe meet constricts the foot from sliding in - barefoot, with a small sock or a wool sock. I was totally devastated as these boots are gorgeous and have rave reviews. I'm back on the hunt with 6 days to spare before our trip to Alaska. :(

I just bought these for my wife and she cannot even get her foot INTO the boot. As stated above, the seam at the top stops the foot from sliding in easily, or in her case, at all. Its more restrictive than a racing ski boot. Returning immediately.

Way too small

the boots were absolutely beautiful, but there is no way they would ever fit me. I normally wear a womens 12, sometimes an 11. I ordered 12's and it took my husband pulling up on the sides and me pushing into the ground to even get them on my feet. they were so tight it was ridiculous. I thought I had been sent 11's untill I double checked the box. order a size up ladies!

I have larger calves. Can’t tell whether this accomodates that. Get’s old trying on cute boots where the calf size is closer to ankle size... Does anyone know? Not asking if it can just be loooooosely laced, or left open - asking whether it can be laced and will still fit muscular or larger calves.
