Caribou Boot
If your feet were evolved for the cold, harsh temperatures of the tundra, then you wouldn't need the Sorel Women's Caribou Boots, which would be unfortunate, considering how classic and cozy these boots are. Being about as classic as they come, the Caribou is one of the original offerings in Sorel's line and remains largely unchanged to this day. Boasting a seam-sealed leather upper that's bolstered by a vulcanized rubber shell and a wool felt liner for reliable warmth, this boot is burly enough to withstand the harshest temperatures north of the 49th parallel and stylish enough to wear out for après drinks.
- Sorel's original winter-proof boot designed for everyday wear
- Seam-sealed leather upper is waterproof and durable
- Vulcanized rubber shell increases durability
- Removable wool blend liner ensures warmth in cold climates
- Bonded felt frost plug insulates against ice and snow
- Aggressive AeroTrac sole ensures traction on snowy surfaces
- Sorel comfort rates this boot to -40F

She loves them
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
I initially got the wrong size and new ones are a bit big, but nice wool socks solves that. She’s very happy with them.

Warm and fit like a glove
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 8.5
- Height
- 5` 9"
This is my second pair of Sorels. I decided to get this boot given its more rugged tread. I read multiple reviews saying that the boot runs large, and some that say it's true to size. Shoes/boots will fit everyone differently. I can fit into 9's, but typically wear 8.5's therefore I got an 8.5. There's a tad bit of room, but you never want your toes at the absolute tip of the boot, that's what gives you cold feet! With regular wool socks on I do not slip one bit when I walk in them. They also get bonus points for being absolutely adorable.

Sorel Caribou
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 7
- Height
- 5` 4"
I live in Minnesota and was really hoping for boots to keep my feet warm in cold temperatures. I was so disappointed when my feet were freezing wearing these boots and it was only 20 degrees out! These boots are definitely overrated. Sadly, I returned them because they did meet expectations.

Way too big
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs large
- Size Bought
- 8.5
I usually wear a 9, but reviews said they ran large so I bought them in an 8.5. They were still at least a full size too big so I had to return them.

Durable
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I absolutely love these boots, I wore them to work everyday this season. They will keep your feet warm wile looking stylish. I ordered a size 7.5 quite frankly, wish I would've got a 7. Other than that great winter boots 10/10 recommend.

Runs small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I followed advice of other reviews about size running large. I disagree. Even my regular size is small. Ordering half size up for the 3rd time.

Ultimate Boot
If you're looking for the ultimate winter boot to endure all conditions, look no further. The Sorel Caribou will get the job done in sub zero temps. I bought a pair of these for my Mom. They do run slightly large, half size down oughta do the trick.

Practical/Durable For Outdoors?
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
More of a question to those have purchased this boot! Do you feel the boot is durable enough to trudge through snow and endure never ending evenings plowing/shoveling a North Dakota driveway? :) I’m essentially looking for an “all in one” boot that can be can be put thru the wringer of, what seems like never ending ND winter work, but also be easy to slip on for everyday excursions/outings (ie running errands in town). Any input would be great! Thanks guys!

I bought these for my daughter. I think they are a rugged boot, but with that they are certainly a stiff boot, and heavier than we'd prefer. We live in MN so I know where you are coming from, however we will be returning these in hopes to find a better pair.

so warm!
These boots are super warm and comfortable. They do however run big so I purchased a size down from my normal shoe size.

Pretty heavy, but super warm
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Picked these up for my fiance as she was in need of some winter boots that fit. She really likes the look of these and says they are super warm. They have a heavy duty sole with big lugs that will grip even the slickest of surfaces. That being said they are pretty heavy. But if warmth and durability are what you're looking for, this is the boot for you! I picked up my fiances normal shoe size and they fit great.

Really Big Boots!
I was looking for a boot I could walk the dogs in during our cold Midwest winters, as well as snow activities like snowshoeing. These came today and was excited opening the box only to be disappointed as to how big they were. Itâs really a massive boot fitting for a fireman or firewomen. I also had a hard time getting my foot inside due to the heavy padding and my high instep. They are also very heavy and cumbersome to walk in. So unfortunately Iâll have to return these.

Perfect Winter Boot
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This boot is super warm, cozy, and cute! They keep my feet warm and dry all day out in the snow. I also LOVE the grey color. Sorrel snow boots might be the only snow boots you'll ever have to buy! So it's a great investment. :) ***Although, you WILL want to go with a half size down from your normal shoe size.

Warm and Cozy - Run Big
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I really loved these boots the moment I saw them and put them on. They are very functional and not over the top looking either. They do run big and unfortunately I will have to return mine as my foot was no exception to the rule. I am usually a 6.5 or 7 in shoes and boots so I ordered 7 as I thought the 6.5 would be too tight. I put on the 7 and my foot slid around too much to where they would not be very funcitoncal for me. The liner will stretch with time so sizing down would be best. The positive size of these is that they feel incredibly warm and comfortable. They are slightly bigger in size but not too clunky. I have insanely cold feet and need a really warm boot but really didn't want to go with a hunting boot. This was a happy medium and I will be trying the 6.5 next. They are cute and functional! I highly recommend them but be sure to check your foot measurements first for correct sizing.

Stomp on!

Gave to the girlfriend, they run large, but she is loving them, in the past she has always had cold feet, no more! We are constantly hiking with the dogs in the snow and these are going to make everybody happier and the dogs are going to be able to stay out longer!

Heavy Duty
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These boots are fashionable and functional. They are kinda clunky and heavy, but it also means that they keep my feet dry and warm. I usually wear a 3 in kids OR a 5 in womens. The 3 was far too small to fit my cozy socks. The 5 is just right.

Like everyone said, order one size down!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Bought this as a replacement pair, my previous ones lasted more than ten years of moderately heavy use so I'm happy. I'm usually a size 7.5/8, ordered a 7 for a snugger fit and to allow for the lining eventually packing out. I wear this shoveling or around town if I want something comfy to just step into. Not great for hiking.

January 4, 2016
Hi Erin, I would always urge people to get the size that they normally wear here. The general consensus on these particular boots is that they run a half size large so you may want to go a little bit smaller. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks,

do these have a pretty wide toe box? the fact that they run a large is really encouraging, but finding something workable is an absolute chore since I'm a completely flat-footed size 12 with a bunion ):

October 24, 2015
You're right, andrew; bunion-owners rejoice! I went ahead and bought a pair since winter's coming quickly and I didn't want to risk them being out of stock; not only are they wide enough to wear comfortably, but there's room for an orthotic as well if I find I need it!

I live in Boston, and the sidewalks get pretty icy, are these boots slip proof on cobblestones?
Anne D.
Jared Downs
August 20, 2015
Anny, These would be a great boot. I wouldn't call any boot 100% slip proof since Boston can often have black ice, etc. Shoot me an email anytime you have questions! Jared D. Expert Gearhead 801.736.4336 jdowns@backcountry.com

October 27, 2015
Hi Anne, Not sure if you've purchased your boots yet, but I have had a pair of Caribous for 4 years while living in Minneapolis. I needed something to protect my feet during brutal Minnesota winters, where I walked a lot. While I am totally happy with their warmth, the soles are definitely not slip proof. I actually had to invest in a pair of micro crampons for mixed snow/ice situations (the kind with little metal studs in the frame, not actual spikes). I bit the dust more than once on icy sidewalks before I got them. It's easy to think that because they are so bulky, they will protect you from the slippery stuff, but my experience has been to take the further precaution of the crampons. Unrelated, but the reason I'm on the site searching for a new pair is that the outer rubber material started to crack where my toes bend, at the same point on both boots, almost like they had dry rot? Unfortunately Sorel customer service said that they could do nothing about the situation because the boots were over 3 years old, and alas the place that I purchased them from was not Backcountry, with its wonderful return policy. I'm caught, because they are incredibly warm. But be advised that the outer rubber has the potential to crack over time.

They run large!! I usually wear a 9 and ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly, even with a little bit of a thicker sock. Keep in mind with wear the liner will start to stretch out and will give you a little more space. I highly recommend you get the size down, the 9 would be huge on me.
