    look nice, sizing not perfect

My girlfriend was looking for a new winter boot so I got her these to try. They look really nice but the sizing wasn’t perfect. They were pretty tight when she tried them on and she felt like they were too bulky. She wanted an around town kind-of-boot and felt that these were too clunky. I honestly thought they looked great and were a nice looking boot. I’d recommend sizing 1/2 size up.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shoes are ridiculously wide. I finally put them on after buying them earlier this winter. The toe box is like a clowns shoe. It’s extremely wide. I feel like I’m walking around in clown shoes. If you compare thee to other Sorel shoes there toe box is almost double of others.

It’s warm. Seemingly good construction. I just can’t get used to how wide the toe box is.

      Great Winter Boot!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Although some of the pictures uploaded by customers make this shoe appear light, they are definitely a heavy winter boot. I wouldn't wear this to walk around town or out to lunch with friends as they are a bit clunky. That being said, they are amazing for staying warm AND cute during the cold winter months we have in Michigan. For hikes, for playing in the snow, for can't go wrong. I wore them hiking for two hours straight (right out of the box) and they stayed amazingly comfortable. No need to break in.

      Winter Essential

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love these boots. So warm, not too clunky, and super durable for the long winter months. I even wear these when I snowshoe as well because they keep the moisture and wet out so well.

      Wanted to Love

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really did want to just love this boot but I can't get behind it. Technically YES it does keep my feet warm but functionally these are a no go (for me). I found them heavy and I found them clunky to walk around in. I thought I'd be able to transition from a snowy day at the dog park to errands but I can't because of how big they are. Will keep them because they do the job but not super impressed.

      Huge and Heavy.

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I was looking for good street shoes for winter. Since everyone have these, I thought I would give them a shot.
I really don't know why these are so popular. Way too big. I wear 7.5 for street and 8-8.5 for hiking. I bought 7.5, and felt like 9. The foot bed is too soft and hard to properly lift your shoes while walking. Heavy as hell. fashion wise also, it pretty much limits your bottoms choice to be skinny jeans or something equally tight. Construction seemed fine. Since they are not real hiking boots, the use is even more limited in towns. I realized these are not practical at all for me.

      Awesome casual/winter boot!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love these boots! They have a cute casual look to them while still being totally functional for snowy, winter months and keeps your feet warm! The toe box is large, lots of room for thicker socks and wiggling your toes! The felt liner is great, definitely keeps you warm and breaks in really easily.

Trying them on for size (tip) + notes

Trying on new "1964" Sorels: Put on double (or triple) the socks you expect to wear with these boots. Remove the felt liner. Try on the boot and see how the rubber part fits your foot.
Why? The felt liner takes a few hours of wearing (around the house worked for me) before it forms to your foot and the boot. If you have thick ankles and calves like me, the new boots are impossible to get on with the liner in place. After I used the trying-on method mentioned above and bought my boots, I cut off the pesky elastic band in the liner. Then I put on thin socks and put on the liners to get a sense of them, before struggling into the boots and liners together. After two evenings of wearing them around the house, it was easy to don them with my regular socks and they fit great, and are a joy for walking outdoors in the snow and mush, compared to my old snow clompers.
The last sorrels I bought, I didn't use this method and wound up with boots that were too big. I made lemonade by using them as easy-to-step-into house boots for this very-cold-in-the-winter apartment and my up north place.
I burned through 2 pairs of non-Sorels in a few years. There are many reasons to buy boots with removable liners, which I won't go into now.

These boots are so cute and I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately I got blisters the first time wearing them. They aren't as light as I thought they would be and it was really hard to get my foot in as the lining kept sliding down. I don't want to have to struggle every time I put these on so unfortunately they are going back . Super bummed!

Heavy and not generous for wide-calves

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I got these thinking they would slimmer and less clunky, but they're really heavy and not generous if you have bigger legs.

        Great stylish, comfortable boots

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size

Gave to my sister, here's her feedback:

Awesome boots, I really like them. They keep my feet warm and dry, and best of all look cute! Can't ask for much more than that!"

        Should last for years

        • Fit: True to size

I got these boots for my wife. They are a classic style, which she prefers. Like other reviewers mentioned, the leather is quite stiff at first. It took some time to put them on the first two or three times. They have since been quite comfortable. Warm boots with good traction. She is happy to have boots that will last for a long time.

        great for walking around town!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 9
        • Height: 5'10"
        • Weight: 120lbs

I've been checking these boots out online for a while now and finally decided to buy them. After going back and forth between whether to keep them or not, I decided they're keepers. My reason for wanting to return them had to do with the liner not staying in the boot properly. It pulls out pretty easily when I pull my foot out, and also bunches up when trying to get the boot on, which bothered me initially. However, after wearing them around the house for a bit the liner seemed to stay in the boot better. Something else to note is the height of the boot, which is a little awkward and hits right in the middle of your shin. Other than that, these are super comfortable and my most favorite Sorels! I wouldn't recommend hiking in these by any means, but they are perfect for going to work or walking around town. They are warm and understated. As with all cold weather boots, they'll take a minute to break in and to be comfortable enough to drive in. I usually wear a 9.5/10, and I bought these in a 9 which fits perfectly.

        Great Classic Boot

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: Runs large

Bought these for my fiance. They are both functional and stylish. Great to get you to and from the ski hill, morning coffee runs, trudging through the snow- she even wore them in our engagement photos.

She normally wears a sz 6.5-7 shoe, she got these in a 6, at first they were a little snug but now they're broken in they're perfect.

        These Will Last Many Winters!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 11
        • Height: 6'0"

I wanted room to wear chunky socks so I went with a half size larger. They fit perfectly. A little hard to slip on and off at first, but once the leather is broken in, they are a dream! I also have high arches but am surprised how comfortable and supportive these boots are. I can walk my dog through the snow for an hour and my feet don't hurt. The waterproofing is spot on and the wool liner is very warm and cusiony. They are a bit heavy but I don't mind the calf work out ;)

        Perfect Winter Boots

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 7.5

I bought these for my wife to use to/from skiing. She loves how warm and waterproof they are, and the classic look. She purchased her normal shoe size and still had space for thick socks. The inner liner is super warm and comfortable. I think she will enjoy these shoes for many years.

        Sorel 1964 Premium

I bought the men's version for my boyfriend last year, and every time it snows I wished I had a pair for myself, thus resulting in me buying these ones! They are awesome. The leather is such great quality and they are waterproof and warm in the snow. If you're looking for something to wear in snowy conditions that's cute and comfortable - look no more!
