Signal MIPS Helmet

Sure, the aero helmets of the pro peloton look slick during a time trial, but for the everyday rider, that is a bit much for cruising down city streets. Smith's Signal MIPS Helmet delivers pro-level protection and features in a package much better suited to the bike paths of our hometown loops. With 21 vents to draw air through the helmet, we can stay cool  and comfortable, and arrive to work without too much of a helmet hair effect. The vents also help prevent fogging when we're wearing our fastest sunglasses that sit close to the helmet's edge.

Smith uses their VaporFit system, which has a dial and allows for up, down, fore, and aft movement for your perfect fit. A well-fitting helmet is a safer helmet, and with three sizes to choose from, you can make sure to have the best fit for your head. The MIPS layer is a strategically anchored liner on the inside of the helmet that moves independently of the helmet shell to redirect impacts. All of these features add up to a helmet that feels light on your head as you cruise through town with the protection you need to get home safely.
  • A feature-packed helmet for everyday riding
  • AirEvac venting system draws cool air through the helmet
  • VaporFit adjustment fine-tunes the fit for a comfortable ride
  • MIPS layer redirects rotational impacts

I ride about 50 miles per week - I needed something semi good but not pro. I took a hard spill when I turned too tight from tarmac to gravel, and went down hard, and hit my head pretty hard, and the helmet protected me. Helmet is great fit, protects, you look semi cool without spending $200......overall it is good.

Purchase this helmet for my dad, who does not ride often so doesn't need an expensive or fancy helmet. For the price, this one is tough to beat. I appreciate that it comes with MIPS and looks like a helmet that costs $125. It's highly adjustable and fits much better than other helmets we've tried in this price range. It's also lightweight and comfortable. Will serve him well for some light road riding and around the town commuting. He could mountain bike in it as well, though he doesn't do that much anymore.

How do you know which size to order? What is the difference between small, medium and large?
