Send the game into overtime with these sport-centric shades.

In the Smith Pivlock Overdrive Sunglasses you'll be able to see the stunned looks on the faces of your competitors as you fly by . The frames are designed to work with your bike and ski helmets, as well as your running hats and straw golf hats, so you can focus on the game at hand. Interchangable lenses and two-way adjustable nose pads give you a custom-like fit for an optimal performance, bright light or flat like alike. Sunscreen is key but also a greasy; the hydroleophobic coating on the lenses resists water and grime build-up so you can see clearly for miles ahead. The hydrophilic nose and temple pads actually grip a little tighter when you start to sweat a little more—workout hard without worrying about losing your shades.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I like these quite a bit, they are comfy, seem to fit a wide range of faces from narrow to medium quite well, not sure about wider heads though. Lens change is relatively easy and I wouldn't hesitate to swap out lenses at the trailhead based on conditions. No clear lens anymore which is a bummer if you ride at night, otherwise you won't miss it. I feel like they do a solid job of letting air move through and prevent fogging when you are riding along, but if you are sitting still they will still fog up on a cold morning ride, but I haven't encountered glasses that didn't do this to some extent. Top notch eye protection, I highly recommend them.

First of all, I'm quite happy with these. The look, feel, and fit is really nice. I really enjoy the adjustablity on the noise pieces and the mechanism for len changes. This seems much better than my old Smiths that required rotating the arms. I'm hoping the lenses will be less prone to delamination with this approach as well.
For me, ratings are heavily based on value... at a respectable discount from retail, these are solid! (at retail, not so much).

I also want to point out that they no longer ship with clear lenses. Apparently Smith stopped doing this sometime last year and I suspect the price did not change as a result either. For me, this was rather disappointing as I was really expecting the clear lenses for night riding as my last Smiths had. For glasses with a retail north of $200 this was rather disappointing.

I have been using these glasses for about 3 weeks, and they are definitely my go to glasses. Great coverage while riding, very light and stable while running. These glasses have the best system for lens changing that I have ever seen, or used. While only 3 weeks, the weather has been very unstable, so I have had them on during very mild, calm sunny days, super windy days (30-40 mph), hot (98), cold (37), foggy and rain. They have worked well in all of these conditions. It is also extremely easy to carry lenses to change to, as they are small, durable and easy to pocket- super handy when starting a ride or run in fog or heavy cloud cover and ending in bright sun. Literally a 15 second change time. Lots of fantastic lens choices at

this is my 2nd pair of pivlocks, the first ones having been crunched by my teenager. this unit is solid and takes the hits and bouncing that occurs as i use them riding and skiing. I like the full frame, it feels more secure to me. I like the quickly exchanged lenses and have purchased off-brand polarized lenses (great for cycling in certain conditions) which all work well. all in all, I'm extremely pleased and the product is highly recommended by me.

    very solid performer

I picked these Pivlock Overdrives up for my good friend Cameron who works as a firefighter up in Washington. He wanted sunglasses he could use for work but also for biking, hiking and general summer playtime on the lake. Here are his thoughts:

"These glasses are very well built which comes in handy for heavy work play use. Thicker frames and easy lens change is nice. But the adjustable nose piece allowed for a custom fit. Well built and can't complain about the price."

Feel free to shoot me any questions about Smith sunglasses, I have too many pairs!

    Poor lens

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

You will need to carry a micro cloth, because as you slightly touch the lens, it will be blurry.
Otherwise the frame is very well built.
    I returned mine.

    Great Lens Quality

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great Lens Quality, and, swapping lenses is cake. However, I purchased these to have a spare while I send my other Smith's back on warranty, and, was disappointed to open the box and find one the new Smith's rubber nose pieces was installed backwards (and it isn't removable). Looks like I'll be sending yet another set of Smith's in for Warranty, +cost via shipping costs.

    Very comfortable glasses, high quality

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Comes with several sets of lenses for varying degrees of brightness. The lenses are easy to take in and out and the glasses are comfortable even after wearing them for a few hours.

How will these do on a big water river trip. Will the lenses pop out?

Hey there, thanks for your question.

These glasses are a great option for a river trip. They do have interchangeable lenses so you can swap them out easily. They will hold in place securely. Each of the glasses comes with an extra clear and igniter lens.

Smith glasses also have a great warranty they stand behind and are a great company to work with.
