    Roll with the punches.

Conditions in the mountains can change in an instant, so be ready for whatever the weather brings with the Smith I/O Interchangeable Goggle. It has a quick-release lens change system so you can swap out lenses in just seconds, and Smith included both bright light and low-light lenses so you're ready to shred from the get-go.

The articulated outrigger positioning system pivots in multiple directions to ensure a comfortable fit with proper optical alignment, even with a helmet on. The 5X anti-fog inner lens prevents fog build-up during leg-burning runs, so there's nothing stopping you from charging your line with confidence.

    Unicorns!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Wide field of vision without the goggles being too big on my face. They also fit great with my helmet. The interchangeable lens are nice, though not the quickest to change.
These are a really nice pair of goggles.
    Plus, they have UNICORNS!!

    Another fine Smith product

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are great. I got the green Woolrich for the band and the green lens. Looks great. I also have a pair of the I/O X, and I have to say the I/O X feels a little more substantial than this one. Changing the lens on both is not much different but seems to be just slightly tougher with the I/O (just getting the side edges of the lens back in). They are also slightly smaller than the X's. But I literally paid half for these than for the X's. I think it was a good deal and happy with the purchase.

    My Third Pair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my third pair of these frames. I keep a bright light lens (sol-x) in one of them, a low light (red sensor) in the other for cloudy days, and a clear lens in the final pair for night skiing so I don't have to swap them out. I tend to be fairly abusive to my lenses so it's very important for me to be able to swap out the lenses without having to buy an entirely new pair of goggles. These look great (particularly with the mirrored sol-x lenses) and integrate seamlessly with Smith's helmets.

    Versatile and Stylish Goggles

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been very impressed with how easy it is to change out the lenses, and you're definitely going to want to depending on how cloudy or clear it is. The darker lens is way too dark for cloudy / snowy days but great when it's perfectly clear / sunny. On the flip side, the lighter lens is perfect for snowy / cloudy days, but doesn't block hardly any light at all on the sunny days. I tried the lighter lens on a sunny day once and I had to put my arm up to block the sun from my eyes while riding the chairlifts in the afternoon. (See picture: Sunny day, can see right through the lens to my eyes). They fit well with my helmet (also Smith) with minimal to no gap in between. As advertised, the viewing angle and clarity is fantastic, far better than older style Smith goggles from a few years back (I haven't purchased new goggles in probably 5 years). I've never had them fog up, which was also a big improvement over older goggles. It's also great that there are so many color combinations to choose from. My only gripe is that they leave an imprint on my face where the foam contacts my skin, and if I loosen the strap they don't seal properly and fall off. If I wear the goggles all day, the lines on my face usually take a few hours to disappear.

    I love these things

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The lens switched out fairly easy. The polarized lens that came with them has been perfect for all conditions though really so I never actually change them. They have consistently stayed perfectly clear for me. 5 ⭐️'s

    Loyalty Through & Through

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been a loyal Smith rider for the past 16 years. No other goggle fits my face as well as the many pairs of Smiths I have owned over the years. From seasons with 100 plus days to currently where I get maybe only 40 days I have never had a pair of goggles that haven't lasted less than two seasons. Great design, quality and easy to replace lens. With Smith you can't go wrong!

    UNICORNS and Great Lenses

I bought these because they have unicorns breathing fire and rainbows for a tail - you cannot tell by the color options on the drop-down menu: but they are there! Cute and practical - plus I love that it comes with a low-light and a separate blue bird day lens, plus the goggle bag has a divider in it so you don't scratch them against each other.

      UNICORNS and Great Lenses

      Good, but not great

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought after enjoying my last I/Os for 5 years of heavy use. I night ride often and do hut/yurt trips every year, so swappable lenses are key. This newer version has fogged on me multiple times. Could be the Variance helmet isn't helping, but I was hoping to wear helmet/goggles while touring in crap weather, but I can tell that's not going to work.
The worst thing about them is they embossed "Smith" into the foam on your forehead, so it gets itchy and the foam is curling after 8-10 days of use, terrible design on an otherwise great goggle.

      Good, but not great

      Superb Goggles

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Solid goggles all-around. Very high-quality foam, and I have no issues with the lenses fogging up, which has been a problem for me in the past. Being able to switch out lenses with ease is also very convenient. 5/5 Stars

      Comfortable and Adaptive

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Admittedly, I've had the same pair of goggles for 10 years, so the Smith I/O opened me up to a whole new world of optical clarity. The foam is super comfortable, wicks away moisture, and dries quickly while the siliconized strap stays secure on my helmet and is easy to adjust should I need to. As for the fit, I have a pretty small face and this style fits perfectly! I'm really digging the lack of frame and its consequential unimpeded vision. Additionally, the interchangeable design is SO easy to use - Smith has a video tutorial on YouTube that details how exactly you're supposed to interchange the lenses. To say the least it's super goober friendly. Solid quality on the whole!

      Versatility

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great goggle with good peripheral vision and style. I really like how easy it is to swap out lenses and that backcountry.com carries an arsenal of different lenses for every condition. The goggle comes with a sunny and a low light lense but you can buy additional lenses that span the entire light spectrum. I don't think any other goggles have so many options.

      Favorite Goggles Yet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been skiing in these every day for the past little bit and I have really enjoyed having them. They fit my face comfortably and are super easy to adjust. I also really enjoy the fact that they have a clip on the back that can be unattached. It makes it easy to take my goggles on and off from underneath my helmet. I would recommend them to anyone.
