Dial in to your cardinal direction.
When you're headed true north, let Smith's Compass Helmet lead the way. Made for navigating those magic powder moments, this lightweight helmet has a sleek low profile design with polished, creamy contours—not so different than lines you've been eyeing up.
Forged with an in-mold construction, this technology combines the talents of a PC helmet shell and an EPS liner, ultimately providing lightweight protection without compromising on comfort. For optimal performance, the helmet is outfitted with AirEvac 2 technology—a mechanization ideal for steering warm air away from your goggles through its external vents and internal channels.
While temperature regulation and melon protection is key, fit is just as crucial too—this piece is built with the women's specific X-static performance lining, Snapfit SL2 ear pads, and adjustable Smith x Boa fit system so you can fine-tune for a categorically faultless fit experience.

...makes some of the best helmet / goggle integrated systems in the industry. Great for the backcountry as well as inbounds. I loved mine so much I purchased this one for my girlfriend and she digs it as well. The compass also offers a great bang for the buck! Highly recommend!

Fits a little small
I'd like to point out that I am, in fact, a man. Purchased this helmet at an end of season sale for approximately 1/3 what the equivalent "man helmet" cost. It's ridiculous that helmets are somehow gendered. Anyway, this is a great helmet but runs into the same issue all Smith helmets do: a snug fit. I have a big noggin' and the large fits tight despite my measurements indicating that there should be a little room. Still, a great helmet overall. The comfy earpads are appreciated even by my man ears.

Warm and comfortable helmet
This is what my wife had to say "I really like this helmet. It is nice that you can control how much the vents open to allow the air to circulate. I have used this helmet while it was snowing and it kept my head and ears warm. It is very comfortable and it doesn't feel like I am wearing a helmet. I like that it also has the options to add in earbuds to listen to music if you wanted."

This helmet is warm and fits my head really well. The adjustable dial in the back helps it achieve a snug fit. I really like the lining in this helmet. I have tried on several and this one was by far the softest and most comfortable. The Matte Lunar color is just as pictured and very nice.

Received the helmet today and there are multiple indentations and rippling on the top. Less importantly, one of the earpieces was loose and did not snap back into place. The box the helmet came in was pristine, so I can only assume that something went wrong on the helmet quality assurance side and wasn't related to delivery. I'm going to exchange and I'm sure it'll be fine since Backcountry has great service...but I want to bring this up because I'm pretty sure the helmet (and your safety) is compromised once there's an initial impact on it. It looks like the Smith Compass is a single-impact design and is not built to withstand multiple impacts (you can buy a more expensive version to get this). Be sure to inspect your helmet, any helmet, carefully after buying, especially if it's a single-impact design. I'm sure this was a fluke incident, but since I've had a friend die skiing while wearing a helmet, I believe its crucial to know what is on your head and feel comfortable that the helmet will perform as it's intended. I hope there's more serious consideration for quality control, either on the manufacturer or distributor side, since there can be very serious implications for faulty versions.

GREAT LIGHTWEIGHT (SOFT LINING) HELMET
This was my first ever ski helmet. I wanted something simple, but also something that would last. This helmet is super soft and warm inside which allowed me to leave my beanie at home. The adjustable back notch is super easy to use ...even while wearing gloves !! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new ski helmet.

Fits well, light, comfortable, pretty much everything you expect out of a helmet. I also love the adjustable boa system!

Awesome best ever snowboard helmet!!!
Has really warm lining no need for hat. Has a dial in the back to tighten so if you (hopefully not) hit your head your brains don't joggle too much. I ordered a large I am 5-9, big head, my circumference measures 61 cm. Fits perfect. I returned a few helmets from the local ski store that just weren't right. One guy recommended medium and didn't cover my ears ended up returning. Another guy recommended large but didn't have dial in back so I returned. Keeping this gem of technology and safety!!!
