Safety and comfort on any slope.

It doesn't matter how steep the slope, you never know when an accident will happen, so stay safe from greens to double blacks with the Smith Aspect Helmet. This lightweight and low-profile helmet features classic styling and comfort-enhancing features to ensure you have no excuse not to rock it every day.

In-Mold construction fuses EPS foam to a polycarbonate shell to minimize weight and bulk without compromising impact protection. Regulator vents can be opened or closed to offer cooling airflow on sunny spring days or hold in heat when it's dumping outside. The adjustable dial fit system allows you to easily lock in the perfect fit and make on-the-fly adjustments with the simple twist of a dial.

AirEvac 2 ventilation keeps your goggles fog-free, while the removable goggle lock keeps them in place. Snapfit SL2 ear pads can be removed when it warms up in the afternoon, and they're Skullcandy audio system-compatible (sold separately) so you can crank tunes while you ski or ride.

    Just Fantastic

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet was fantastic. It's light weight, comfortable, and warm. I skied with it in temps as low as -11F to as high as 40F wearing just a thin layer in addition to the helmet. The only reason I wore the extra thin layer as well as the helmet was to keep the cold wind from hitting me where the helmet and goggles meet. Otherwise the venting was great....on the cold days I had the vents open at times.

    Smith Aspect is Best Value

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For $69.95 this 2015/16 season Smith Aspect helmet is the best value snow helmet in the market today (March 2016) after I searched extensively.
With the exception of lacking the MIPS (additional brain protection) and EPP multi-impact liner latest technologies this Smith model helmet has every option one can desire for a helmet for less. Compared to many other more expensive Smith and other competitors helmet models.

M-size fits true to size with the adjustable sizing rotation knob in the back. And the manually adjustable 14 vents are among the best but much more expensive helmets. I used integrated Julbo OTG goggles with this helmet and they ventilate well with the two helmet stack vents above. I also used this OTG goggles successfully with the oldest Smith Variant Brim helmet model.

The elegant "Pacific" pale/pastel blue color of this helmet displayed on the site represent the true color of this helmet. Highly recommend to everyone who is looking to spend less for all needed helmet features today.

Great helmet at a very good price

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used the helmet in very cold conditions as well as in warmer temps, and it has been great. The size adjustment works well and allows you to really dial in the fit.

    Warm and comfortable

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

"This helmet definitely does its job. First day out with the new helmet, ducked under a few tree branches and hit one hard. Just a couple light scratches but better on the helmet than my head! I had to open the vents in the afternoon since the helmet is nice and warm. Fits great and I love the adjustable dial fit system. I can tighten or loosen the helmet for comfort. I got the Orange helmet so I can stand out in a crowd."

Very light weight, warm and cool

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used one season for skiing at resorts and backcountry trails in the northeast during very cold and warm days. It was nice to be able to remove the ear covers when it was warm day. I wish they come in more different colors and patterns; because of it I gave 5 stars, otherwise 5. Matt finish makes easy to spray paint, see attached photo.

Very light weight, warm and cool

I think I saw the answer to this question in a review, but just wanted to confirm; are the ear pads removable?
