My new favorite ski sock

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These socks are a really good blend of wool and nylon. They are thinner than my other favorite ski sock and are tight on the calf, so they may not be for every use but I find myself pulling these out more often than the others. Edit: they are very thin on the calf and top of the foot, they are thick around the toes and on the heel

Favorite wool socks

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these as a gift for my husband, He doesn't wear anything else but these socks and loves them. He says they are super comfy and breath really well

Not "Light"

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Really nice high quality socks, but they are actually quite thick (NOT light). If you like your boots close fitting, these will be way too thick. Returning one of two pairs I bought only because I tried one pair; I should have sent them both back as soon as I saw them. But they are great socks and will work for snowshoes or winter hikes.

Great Socks!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These socks are really comfortable and keep my feet at a good temperature on any day above 10 degrees fahrenheit. If it's colder than that I use toe warmers in my snowboard boots and can ride all day in comfort.

Thick Socks

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

If you like thick socks then you will like these. I prefer a think sock in my boot. I have tight boots and the sock tends to bunch up. Kinda annoying.

Warm Toes

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These socks are awesome for outdoor adventure, especially hitting the slopes. They are so comfortable, warm, and durable. I love the tall socks because you can wear them high or fold them over in your boot for a little extra cushion!

Look no further for the best ski socks!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have used the Smartwool PhD socks for 5 seasons now. These are the only ski socks I will buy. They are warm, yet thin, and provide padding in the shin and heel areas so you can ski all day without pain. Perfect for broken in ski boots where the padding has gotten compacted in the boot. I have not had any issues with durability or the socks stretching out over time.

Great for barn work too!

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

We love Smartwool in my family and swear by them. They are always a winner as gifts for us! I gifted these to my sister to wear under her work boots. She works with horses in a barn and loves that these are padded so wearing them in her boots are comfortable. Her feet are much happier this winter than in the past!

Love these!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love these socks! They are my favorite to wear snowboarding. Not only do they keep my feet toasty warm but they also allow them to breathe. I think everyone who snowboards or ski's should own a pair of Smartwool ski socks, they are the absolute best! I wear a size 8 in women and the medium size fits me best.

Perfect Balance

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

When it comes to the right warmth without sacrificing fit in your boots, the Light PhD is the best compromise. They do not slip down, keep you warm, naturally antimicrobial, and offer padding in right places. Great socks.

My ski socks

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I snagged a couple extra pairs for this season so they probably puts the tally around 7 pairs. After a season the fibers will wear out if you use them a few times a week. These are comfortable socks and the pattern on them doesn't constrict any blood flow to my feet so they stay warm all day without creating a climate in my boots.

Perfect sock

Nice and thin with padding in all of the right places. They are sfter than a lot of the other brands I have tried and they never slide down.

Love these things, I have well over 7 pairs now and my first pair which is 6 years old now is just starting to reach its last legs. They let your blood flow and they don't stink when you forget to wash them inbetween shreds what more could you ask for in a sock?

Too thick for a "ski" sock

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

These are marked as "ski" socks but it's a little misleading because they're actually thicker than your traditional thin ski sock. They are marked "Light" because they have a "Light Cushion" or padding in the heel -- not because they are light weight. They felt like high quality socks however they were simply not what I was expecting.

Thanks for the review!

A great sock!

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

"I’ve tried a bunch of different socks and will be sticking with these from now on. I don’t like a very thick sock, so these are perfect. They’re streamlined so they don’t mess with the fit of my boot. They’re a great sock."

I snowboard a lot more than I ski but I hate thick socks and I need something to keep my feet warm still with breathe-ability. These work great for what I need! I'm a size 11.5 and I wear Large. I also wear Thirty-Two TM-Two Snowboard boots size 12.
