    My New Favorite Socks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Initially, I was a bit hesitant to splurge on Smartwool socks, but I now regret not making the purchase sooner! These socks are my favorite sock for any type of activity. They're lightweight, breathable, and don't smell horrible after a good sweat session. Durability has been great so far, and they show no signs of wearing out any time soon. Get yourself a pair (or five)!

    Go wool or go home

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Once you've experienced the longevity of a good pair of wool socks (both lifetime and multi-day use) you'll be hard pressed to go back. I generally pack one pair of wool socks per 4-6 days of travel.

    Good versatile socks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these doing everything from hiking to playing full court basketball and they've performed well. Good moisture wicking, very breathable and extremely light. These socks have done a great job of keeping my feet cool and dry. Another winner from Smartwool.

    Comfortable sock...but thin.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Huge fan of SmartWools socks, so decided to check out the Ultra Lights. Like all SmartWool socks, this sock is extremely comfortable and super soft. The material is light, so your feet stay cool even through several hours of activity. Compared to the Run Light Elite, the Ultra Lights are noticeable thinner, so I do worry about the durability of the sock in the long haul. This might be my go to 'casual sock' as opposed to 'active sock'. Overall, solid sock, but I might suggest the Light if you plan on using the sock while being active.

    Great Socks!

My go to everyday socks. The only downside is they only last me about 6 months. They are thin, lightweight and breathable.

    New favorites

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These are my new favorite socks. They keep my feet dry, comfortable, and cool, without having the elastic wear out! I used to be skeptical of wool socks in the summer, but these have changed my view.

Wear 'em 10 days in a row

    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"

These socks are just perfect. Once all of my current UA and Nike socks wear out, I'll replace them all with these or Darn Tough ones. I love both of them.

    Great Sock

This sock is very comfortable. It does not have alot of cushion, but seems to be very durable. I use it for everyday use and running. The large fit perfectly for me.

    Love them!

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"

These socks are comfortable, supportive, and fit like a dream. I don't notice any slipping off or added blisters from areas with noticeable rub.

    put a hole in mine

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 200lbs

I was on my third run with these and I had a nice hole from my big toe. The crazy thing is that I put duct tape on my toenail because I was worried about this.

    Lightweight Sock

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Lightweight throughout, but missing the added cushion that most socks would have on the bottom of the toe and heel. However, there is a bit more tension in those areas that typically would have the cushion.

This is by far the most breathable of all the smart wool socks that I have tried.

Had the socks over a month now and don't see any sign of durability issue. Just be sure to hang dry them rather than using a dryer.

For reference, I am a size 10.5-11 shoe size and purchased a Large.

The best gear is often that which disappears, and is so well designed that you don't even think about it. These are my go-to socks for running, racing, cross-training, and are always up to the test. If you're worried about merino being too warm, fear not. What the merino offers is comfort and antimicrobial odor control. The price is less than ideal, but go for quality not quantity and buy these on sale when you can
