Perfect for non-race fit ski boots.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Smartwool. I use these in my less tight-fitting ski boots, snowboard boots, ice climbing boots, and generally in the winter. They have a light-to-mid cushion in shins, heels, toes. Smartwool socks last much, much longer than other lightweight merino ski socks -- which I know because I tried two other brands last year and both are already thinning at the toes! #sweepstakes

Just right for my ski boot.
Great sock! I finally replaced my smartwool PhD socks and these are an upgrade. These socks do not have cushion, but have a little more volume than the PhD sock. They feel great in my ski boot. I wear them with boot heaters, so I can't comment on warm. However, I do own targeted cushion over the calf ski socks and they are warmer.

Comfortable Socks
These sock are really nice and stay up on your leg without any discomfort. I thought they would be a little thicker but wasn't disappointed when I put them on. I was surprised how warm they are being so thin. Not sure how warm they would be in the extreme cold. I was recently looking into Sock Liners for really cold weather but after doing a lot of looking realized these would be perfect as a liner for extreme cold or wear alone for warmer days. I'm glad I found them. I 'm perfectly happy with these socks and my sock liner search is over I already have them.

Love these socks for high output sports!
These are my go-to socks for hockey! Thin, comfortable, pliable even when I forget to wash them, and durable. Great in ski boots too, if you like a thin sock.

I follow the racers' lead
This is my second season of skiing in PHD Pro socks. Ski racers wear tight boots with no space for lots of cushioning, but they do want to be warm! I spend a lot of time skiing and I follow their expertise. Smartwool makes the perfect ski sock for high performance skiing and comfort.

will buy again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These socks worked great for me. I am a ski patroller and they kept me warm and comfortable in all conditions. I never worried once about my feet when wearing these. In fact at the end of each day I said, "strong work socks, strong work."
