I bought two of these, and I'd buy more if I didn't feel greedy about it. Despite an itchy tag, these are perfect. The fit, weight and function are among the best I've tried for face masks and neck gaiters. I have lighter OR ones for summer, but I'm considering buying more Smartwool gaiters in a lighter weight because these have exceeded expectations in really cold temps (coming from a Minnesotan).

Pretty much any softgood product you can think of is better if made of Merino. Buffs are no different. Warm and soft against the skin, no funk the next day.

Everything you love about your favorite smart wool merino shirt in neck gaiter form. The merino stays warm, even when wet, which is key for me because I always take my gaiter off and stuff it in my helmet and forget about it until I need it again. Soft and warm, dries quickly and doesn't hold odor after multiple days of use. Definitely going to buy the longer version as well!

Super warm, and super soft! I bought it for my wife. She wishes it would stay put a little better higher up on her face while wearing a helmet, but it's a great gaiter overall.

Warm and Comfortable

This is a great midweight gaiter. It is soft and comfortable and the merino keeps me assured that moisture will wick away, It seems to take longer to wet out than the polyester gaiters I have used but I have not run any scientific tests or anything of the sort.

Picked up this gaiter to help keep the ole neck warm on those chilly days! the merino is great because it's super soft and keeps me warm, even if it's all frosted up. I now consider it to be an essential piece for my winter gear. wont go up on the mountain without it!

Feels great. Soft and not scratchy like a lot of neck gaiters. Really like the fact that it is long; I can use it for full neck, face and top of head.

This is my go to gaiter for hiking in cold weather. It has two layers of merino wool and is just long enough to cover from the collar of my zip top base layer to my eyes. Combined with a beanie, it's shear perfection. Nice and warm and doesn't hold odors.

I went with the merino wool with intent to keep it over my face for cold days on the ski hill and it has not disappointed. The merino wool stays warmer when wet so it has been a nice choice so far.

Not too tight, not too loose. Material is nice and not itchy. Just perfect to keep your neck warm and lift up over your chin and up to your nose. I is thin enough to tuck under the nose portion of your goggles to keep your nose warm when the wind is whipping.
