Crazy comfort before, during, and after you work out.

The SmartWool Women's Microweight Bottom takes care of you from the moment you put it on until you take it off. Flatlock seams and an elastic waistband are comfortable as soon as you slide into the Microweight Bottom. Super-soft merino wool wicks moisture and breathes well to keep you dry and comfortable for your entire workout. You won't have to go slinking home right after your workout, either, thanks to merino's odor-fighting properties.

    lightweight, BUT see through

    • Fit: True to size

This is my first Smartwool nts micro 150 bottom. I already own a few of the shirts in the same weight and love them. These bottoms are soft and lightweight, but the silver gray heather color is a bit see through and doesn't seem quite as heavy as the 150 shirts. These don't look as if they will hold up over time, I guess I'll find out. I am 5'3, 117lbs., and typically an XS which is what I bought.

Never can have too many baselayers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    Good buy!
    -super soft
-love the waist band, its not too tight to show my love handles
-the length is not too long like normally on other baselayers but there is still a little bit of extra material that bunches up at the bottom, I would recommend getting 3/4 length for skiing!
-they seem kinda thin but def warm since they are wool
-mine have not smelled yet and I have worn them a few days in a row :)
    - I also have the stoic baselayer ones and like the back of these a little better because there is no seam on the back butt.
-they are cute just to wear under a dress too, stylish
-it says the recommended use is running, I haven't actually ran in them yet. I use them for snowboarding under my ski pants.

    Buy Them!

    Fit well (not too tight)

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

The material was very comfortable, was not scratchy at all. The pants were very thin and almost see through but that is expected of a base layer. I wore this along with another pair of leggings and skii pants to Alaska in the winter (-40C/F temperature) and my legs did not feel cold at all.

    Great to get on sale!

I love smartwool and try to wait for a sale to buy it. It doesn't itch and you can actually wash it in the washing machine and it won't shrink. It doesn't smell bad like polypropylene, either. I wear it as a base layer for kayaking.

    Love the flat waistband

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

The new flat waistband is amazing. I always hate long underwear because they dig into my waist but these fit great at the waist and are flat against my skin, not digging in at all.

    Perfect for hiking

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I'm in the PNW and wear these all the time. Got totally stuck in a deluge yesterday and although my rain pants weren't up to the task, because I had these wool tights on, I was still just fine temperature wise. Only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that they sag just a bit in the crotch.

    The best!

Bought these as an added layer for a trip to Patagonia, Chile and all I can say are these are the bomb! I ended up wearing just these with gaitors and my boots, keeping rain gear in my pack in case of bad weather, and these tights made the best, most comfortable hiking pant imaginable. I actually developed a rash on my inner thighs from hiking in wet rain forest conditions (wearing traditional rain-resistant, convertible hiking pants from Prana), and these tights ended up being the only thing I could wear for a week that didn't chaff or irritate. I was worried they would be a little see-through, but they weren't and they worked great for hot days AND for cold. I had a couple falls that ended up tearing a hole or two in the cloth, but i sewed them up happily, as these are now my go-to's for any outdoor activity!

    love them

I use them for xc skiing, road cycling and running. These light weight bottoms are really warm and so thin so it doesn't feel like I am wearing two layers. I liked them so much I got my mother a pair that she wears under her every day pants and she has not stopped talking about them yet!!

    best merino legging!

They're become my go to underlayer for winter. I wear them under to work. I wear them as my base layer when skiing/hiking. I've even worn them to bed! These bottoms are amazingly comfy, never itchy. It will keep you warm but not too hot. What more could you want?!

      Love SmartWool

Great lightweight tights. Wear them hiking and for everyday - this spell of cold weather has been a great prooving ground for them. They keep the wind out, they are warm and they stay up! I have had other brands of long uderwear that i've had to constantly adjust after moving around in them for a period of time, but not these. Great set of bottoms.

        Review Title

Definitely very thin, which is what I wanted to wear as a base layer in the snow since I get too hot very quickly. The cuff seem is very tight, so you need to clip it in order to scootch them up above your boots. They are a little bit itchy, even within the realm of wool base layers.

          Smartwool Microweight long underwear bottom

I deliberately ordered these really light weight ones to wear indoors. They are really thin too, so I can wear them under dress pants. We keep our house temperature really cool so I wear these indoors on really cold days. Also, if I do have to go outside to run a quick errand, these keep my knees and legs from getting too cold. They would not be warm enough to wear outdoors on very cold (zero or colder) days.

            Comfy but not that warm

I live in Chicago and today was my first day wearing these. The windshield is below zero and it was about 12 degrees outside this morning when I left for work. I was warm in all areas except my knees and thighs and that was the problem I was having before I bought these. I think that they are good for warmer temperatures, but not freezing temperatures. So be aware of that before purchasing. I am thinking I am going to go with the midweight for freezing days like today. I do love this website and their online chat is very helpful. Thanks!! :)
