Sure.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I pack the vest when I go on more chilly mountain bike rides. No need for vest while climbing, but I used to freeze on the descent. Now I pull out the vest and it's perfect: warm and wind blocking going downhill. But breathable and super light. Reflective stripe on back nice touch for twilight return. Ideal for 50 ish California winter rides.

Permanent travel companion
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a similar jacket that has been my travel companion for years. Perfect in my personal item (backpack) on the plane. I bought this for slightly warmer days, or more likely, for when my wife is freezing and did not bring a jacket, at least I will have something - ultra light weight and packs into it's own pocket. Perfect

I've had this vest for a few years and I pretty don't go out without it. I had the same reaction as the other reviewer when it arrived (and they're right about the lenght, and I like that), but I've learned that it is a uniquely valuable piece in the layering quiver. Highly recommended! (Came to this page because I thought I had lost it and was ecstatic to find it's still available - rare these days for a particular item of clothing to be around for more than one season - bravo SmartWool!)

This has become my favorite and most important clothing item
During strenuous activity on cool days, slight breeze blowing, I'd find myself putting on a fleece over baselayer to stay warm. Except then I'd be way too warm, and within 10-20 minutes drenched in sweat. Which would cause me to get cold again so I'd have to put a shell over top of the fleece. This vest is the perfect solution, I wear it almost constantly over top of a light to medium base layer, keeps me at just the right temp so I don't get chilled, but also don't over heat. Smartwool stuff tends to fit me perfectly at size M, the vest is no exception. Snug but not tight, the zip neck has just enough room to be comfortable over the top of my base layer.

I love this item
I use this over my cycling Jersey or over a mid-layer for added warmth and wind protection. I can stuff it in my back pocket. Love it.

I would not buy this garment again.

It claimed some small percentage of wool, which turned out to be stretchy wool gussets under the arms and insets at the back of the neck. The body of the garment was some cheap, flimsy fabric with neither the feel or appearance of even the lightest weight wool. Very disappointed.
