    Merino 250 Asym Top

Some would argue that the hardest part about skiing is the skiing part, but for you, it's staying warm. Knock out this challenge with the Smartwool Women's Merino 250 Asym Top. Built to keep you warm in the coldest temperatures, this baselayer is heavy and ready to work. Woven from plush merino wool, this top wicks sweat and naturally breathes so that you stay warm, but not stuffy. The cowl neck and asymmetrical zipper also allows you ventilation so you can control heat when you're hanging out after a long day on the mountain.

    • A midweight baselayer for staying warm
    • Raglan sleeve eliminates top shoulder seams
    • Flatlock seams eliminate chafing
    • Merino wool breathes and reduces odor build-up
    • Regular fit accommodates layers
    • Item #SWL00UG

    Disappointed in fit.

I so wanted to like this piece! Unfortunately, the fit is not nearly as flattering as it is on the model. The body is too snug to be a casual sweater, but the arms would have been too loose if I had sized up. I tried zipping the neck up to see if I would prefer this as an athletic piece, but the neck is incredibly long and had to be doubled over, which looked odd. Returned.

Love Smartwool, and thought this shirt was very cute on-line. It's beautifully made and I love the design but you should be warned that it's very tight. I
bought my regular size small but I should have known by the picture that it's meant to be fitted. So if that doesn't bother you, then go for it.

    Gave it Another Chance!

I loved the look of this top, the neck of it is my favorite part. I was bummed about the color last time I bought it and ended up returning it without even trying it on. Once I saw the new colors this season I decided to give it another chance because I love the look of it so much. I got the Mediterranean Green color and I LOVE it! The color is perfect and just like the photo.

The fit is spot on. It fit true to size, and is very flattering. It is fitted to me and I am just in love with the neck. The material is super soft and it is very comfortable to wear. The shirt is quite warm and will be perfect to wear now that the weather is cooling down. It is perfect for any activity!

I ended up returning this item. I bought the black color, and it just didn't look like the picture. The white color in the picture is really more of a grey. Which may be fine for some people, I just didn't like it enough to keep it. It was not as cute as I though it would be.

Soft and comfy, but shrinking slightly

The Smart Wool 250 Asym has been my wife's go-to base / mid layer. She's been wearing it as an outer-layer shirt during the day in the Fall and also on cold nights around the house. She's also used it as a base layer on cold days underneath jackets or for running or skiing.

Like with other Smartwool products, it stays warm and wicks moisture very very well. The one problem has been that it has shrunk slightly in the dryer, so consider sizing up to account for that if you use a machine dryer.
