This shirt is fantastic! So soft and kept me comfortable on a hard bicycle ride. I'm sure this will be my favorite hiking shirt going forward. I want to see if this is available in long sleeve to keep the sunburn away. Runs true to size in my opinion in so far as it's tight enough to not hang down loosely when you're at the gym in a plank position, for example, or even in a hand stand the shirt isn't going to fall down around your head. And it's also loose enough to be comfortable around the house, and stylish enough to wear if you're going out, if that's your style. I'm a collared shirt guy so I wouldn't go out with a t-shirt, I know other guys do though.

    Overall pretty good

The shirt is a nice standard fit, in a decent weight merino. Durable enough and as expected. The collar is a bit thick though, which I guess is nice that it won't become a bacon neck, but it sits high and depending on what I'm layering over it becomes a bit awkward underneath. If they improve this I would be excited to get some more of these.

You won't want to take this off.

I usually bring this shirt on long weekend camping trips, I'll pack other shirts, but always end up wearing this one the entire time. I was skeptical about the "Naturally antimicrobial to reduce odor" but it's true, it is tough to get this shirt to smell bad. This is the perfect shirt for those all day pursuits with lots of temperature changes.

    Too delicate of a shirt

I bought this shirt based on all the great reviews I read. I wore it one time to a camping trip last year and had no problems. I cleaned it following the instructions on the Smartwool website and hung it out to dry. It's been sitting in the closet until I went camping again this previous weekend. I noticed while packing that a hole had developed. I don't know if it was from the wash or while camping, but either way, I don't expect this type of quality for the price I paid. I definitely won't be buying Smartwool again.

I learned the hard way (when I started doing my own laundry as a kid) not to put t-shirts in the same load as my jeans. Not saying that's what happened to you. I just know I love wool t-shirts for temp regulation and low stink factor after 3 days out. I wash with delicates (or hand wash) and lay flat to dry. Zero problems.

    Purchased for my BF

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I got this for my boyfriend and it instantly became his favorite shirt. He loves the fit (he's 6' and 165 lbs, got him a size medium), loves that it doesn't smell horrible at the end of the day like all of his other shirts, and loves how lightweight it is.

    Best shirt

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was impressed with this shirt the first day i wore it. I went from a house that was too warm, to outside where it was freezing, then to a car, then walking around outside and inside some shops. Because of this shirt i was comfortable the whole time without changing layers, and I honestly was blown away at how well it regulates temperature as next to skin layer. Highly recommended.

If you're planning on washing and drying them in machines, I would size up as wool tends to shrink a bit even when following the care instructions. I got a large and it felt like a medium after washing.

    Great Fit and Materials!

The Merino 150 shirts are super comfortable and fit me really well. The merino wool fabric is great for wicking moisture quickly to keep you dry and also doesn't get as stinky as cotton or polyester. I wear this shirt hiking, biking, and for everyday use and have no complaints.

    Nice shirts

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Xl
    • Height: 5'11"

Comfortable and well made shirts, but find myself in between sizes. I'm 5'11 210 lbs with broad shoulders and muscular stocky build. The large fits snug across shoulders/chest and snug around my arms, but length is about right falling just below belt line. The XL has more room for a looser fit that I prefer, but the length falls below my butt which is a bit too long. Sticking with XL and hoping it shrinks slightly for a better fit since I don't like form fitting shirts at my age 40+.

I originally bought the shirt for my hike on the John Muir trail. It has quickly become an every day regular no matter what I'm doing. On the trail, I was out there for 17 days. I also had an icebreaker wool short sleeve and compared to the icebreaker brand, this shirt is a clear winner in every way. I ended up wearing this probably 15 out of the 17 days on the trail and with a simple soak and dry at the end of each day, it did not smell and just performed well above any expectation I had. I've since purchased two other colors as I wear it all summer long. 75 bucks is a small price to pay for this quality.
