Take a hike—but not without the Smartwool Light Hiking Crew Kid's Socks.

Smartwool's Light Hiking Kids' Crew Sock is in it for the long haul. Ideal for long hikes, these socks have a reinforced sole that will stand the test of time. Smartwool knits the arch brace with spandex to give your kids' feet the extra support they need. Flat-knit toe seams won't rub their piggies raw after a long day on the trail and their young skin will stay blister free thanks to this Hiking Crew Sock's light half cushion.

    Ideal for NYC Winters

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

We gave this as a gift for my 2-year-old niece who lives in New York City. We've heard only good things about the quality of and insulation provided by this sock. It has stood up to hard toddler wear and apartment complex washer/dryer combos really well. We gave this in extra small, light gray.

    Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

My 7yo is super picky about his socks and he LOVES these. They're very soft, but you need to allow for shrinkage. We bought a large for our 7yo boy. His shoe size is a 3. We went back for seconds!

SmartWool Hiking Light Crew Sock - Kids'

My daughter has no complaints about these socks, and no complaints from her equals no complaints from me! Just remember not to put them in the dryer on high heat- unless you WANT them to shrink.

      HIGHLY RECOMMEND

These are the best socks ever -- adult or children. Not too heavy, but cushioned enough for hiking. Excellent with sandals, too. They last and last, wash and dry easily, and are good and stretchy -- no lumps or bumps!!

        Home run

What can you say about a sock that does its job in wet boots? No blistered feet with these socks, so the best compliment I can give them is that my feet never knew they were on. Without them, as we like to say in the South, "my dawgs would have been barking."

The denim socks look different than the other two colors. Are they shorter, as pictured, or hit mid calf as described?Thank you!

Same sock, different photo. Backcountry often has different photos depending on the color shown. Sometimes it may be because they haven't got around to taking their own shots and are using the stock images. Or they were taken at different times. It's funny though how the appeal can change based on how the product is displayed (hence models being pretty people).
