I own a bunch of Simms products and i’m a big, big fan of the company. But as much as I wanted to like this product, I couldn’t. It’s lacking too many features that should be standard on a high-quality fly fishing product. On the plus side, the fabric rates high on warmth, water resistance and wind resistance. No complaints here. My issues with this product are as follows: the hand pockets lack a fleece lining. There is only one, small, outside breast pocket. Far too small for even the smallest fly box. They would improve the jacket by having two large Velcro pockets on each side, each big enough for a large fly box. The waist lacks a drawstring, limiting the functionality of the product to being worn under your waders. And the biggest drawback of all are the cuffs. There made of a material that doesn’t dry nearly quick enough. My cuffs are constantly getting wet when I land fish and this is a major weakness. The product would be improved with some sort of neoprene, Velcro cuff. Most of this doesn’t apply if you’re not fly fishing in cold conditions, but unfortunately that’s what I purchased this product for.

Gave this as a gift to my father in law. He uses this jacket ice fishing in the Wisconsin winter cold. It’s the only jacket he’ll use winter fly-fishing in Utah, where it frequently is windy, rainy, and below freezing. He comes home happy and warm at the end of day.

Great wet weather protection

I gave this to a relative who is still in college and walks a ton to and from school; waiting for transportation and in between classes. He reports it being his go-to jacket for cold and wet conditions, instantly becoming his favorite outdoor piece. It's very roomy and comfortable and he reports staying warm and dry, even during the winter months here in Utah. Would definitely recommend to any person who spends a considerable amount of time outdoors in wet and rainy conditions, or even just for when you need to stay dry during the occasional rainy day.

Great weatherproof jacket

Perfect for cold mornings when a hoodie doesn't cut it but you don't want to break out your winter coat!

Comfortable and stylish

Very happy with everything this jacket has to offer. Has kept me warm and dry on more than one occasion. Although the weather in New England isn't brutal by any means it is stubborn. As I write this its been raining for 5 days all while the striped bass have just showed up, they don't care about the rain and with this jacket I don't either. The fleece lining isn't just on the inside it extends to the pockets which is a welcome touch when your hands are getting to cold to tie knots. The coating on the outside repels rain like a freshly waxed car. The chest "flybox" pocket doubles as a media pocket with a spot for headphones to go through.

Love the jacket. Looks great. Comfortable. Keeps the weather out. Sizing runs a bit large. It is bagger than other medium tops I have. The cuff ripped after wearing it just a handful of times. I contacted Simms about getting it repaired. They want me to pay to have it shipped. No thanks. I'll see if someone can stitch it up locally.

Love this fleece hoodie. Great for around town or our fishing. Straight out of the bag I knew I would love it. Great fit and material seems like its going to be durable. The DWR finish has helped keep me dry on a few occasions. If your in the market for a new hooded fleece look no further!

Dad Loves It!

Got this for my Pops for his 58th Birthday and he loved it! He has yet to put it through the ringer but initial impressions get the seal of approval. He has been fishing his whole life so hes picky on what he chooses to wear. This fit true to size and is an awesome material. Its warm and beads water and is a great fall/spring piece. Could also work as a layer in the winter as well!

This hoodie is a great light jacket for those misty cold times that you don't need a full coat and a windbreaker just wont do it. This is also a great fitting jacket!
