Because the best fish are caught in the rain.

When you'd take a dark and stormy day over a hot and sunny, arm yourself with the Simms Men's ProDry Gore-Tex Jacket when you head out for a little foul-weather fishing. Simms built the ProDry to keep working professionals out on the water all day, so you'd better believe it will work well for you, too. The jacket is equipped with a Gore-Tex Pro three-layer shell for top-shelf protection from rain, and it maintains an excellent level of breathability, so you won't feel all damp and dewy from sweat by the end of the day. The three-point adjustable hood shields your face from slanting rains, and the YKK Aquaseal zippers seal out any moisture that would otherwise seep through the zippers. Since those rainy days usually produce more fish than the clear and sunny ones, you'll be releasing quite a few fish when you wear this jacket, so the watertight cuffs will be a feature you'll appreciate. And since your hands will be pretty cold after you release those big old salmonids, two zippered hand pockets will be a welcome companion when its time to switch out flies.

    • Rain jacket designed specifically for fishing in foul weather
    • Gore-Tex Pro is reliably waterproof and comfortably breathable
    • Three-layer construction is thin, light, and packable
    • Watertight cuffs and YKK Aquaseal zippers seal out wetness
    • Three-point adjustable hood stays secure in windy situations

    For Monsoon Conditions!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Outstanding jacket custom built for the worst wet weather conditions. Recently wore this jacket on a salmon fishing trip in British Columbia in heavy seas and a downpour. When the rain is coming at all angles, this is the jacket to have.

The high collar is perfect for keeping your face dry and keeping the rain out. Pair it with a hat, pull the hood over and you will be covered for almost anything except a wave crashing right over you.

This is definitely monsoon-proof but it comes at the cost of a little more bulk so if you are not aggressively casting or moving about quite a bit, this jacket is ideal. Perfect for ocean fishing, steel heading, and other trips where you don't need a more flexible and less rigid packable jacket!

    Skiing jacket or fishing jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

When the blue wings start coming off on that snowy April day on the Green, you don't want to have to row off because you are wet and cold. You pull out your Simms Pro Dry Gore Tex jacket and start bringing fish to the boat. This jacket rivals the best ski jackets out there but is made for fishing with large pockets for fly boxes and waterproof cuffs. You don't need to use this jacket often but when you do it is nice to know you won't have to stop fishing.

    Great Jacket!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This is an amazing jacket that I not only use for fishing but camping as well. The sleeves are not overly baggy which allows it to be easy maneuvering while fishing. The pockets are perfectly placed and you can wear it around town easily too. It doesn't look like a fishing coat! Would highly recommend this to anyone.

    Awesome Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"

Lives up to all of the hype. Tons of features and totally rain proof. The only adjustment I would make to the style is to include zipper vents in the underarm area. Regardless, will last decades. Keep up the great work Simms.

    Awesome jacket!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I got this jacket for my husband, specifically for when he goes trout fishing in the Australian high country. He usually fits into a Medium, which I what I got him and it fit perfectly. It has a bit of room to layer some thermals underneath, which is ideal.

He got it for his birthday, so not only was he stoked to get a "Simms" jacket, but he was impressed at how lightweight it was. He took it fishing last weekend and the review was that it's awesome! He wore it with a set of neoprene chest waders, in very windy and drizzly rain conditions. While everyone else was packing up and heading off, he stayed knee deep in the river catching trout after trout. The rain just beaded and ran off the jacket and he didn't feel the wind chill at all. The hood was ideal over his beanie in the rain.

Nothing stuck to that jacket either - a bit of trout slime just washed straight off in the rain! No odours clung to it either. All the pockets came in handy too.

All in all, a purchase that's well worth the money.
