    Best Waders In The Business

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I fish 50 to 100 days a year. Simms waders are the best in the business but like all waders they will rip, tear, and pop leaks with more and more use. Tall brush, thorns, thistles, barbed wire, rocks, logs and a host of other things that can put a hole or tear in your waders await. If you do damage your waders, the real benefit of having Simms waders is their amazing customer service. Send them back for repairs for a reasonable fee and your investment will last for years.

It is no coincidence that nearly all guides wear Simms waders.

    Built To Last

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'10"

I feel like it's a little early to be leaving a review without having these for a little longer but I can't help myself. I absolutely love these things. They fit well, are incredibly strong and durable and make you feel like you're cruising around the river in a unbreakable bubble. I have 100% confidence in these and know that they will last for years to come. Simms does a great job with the fit and the size chart is really accurate. I would highly suggest these to anyone who is looking for bullet proof waders that will last for years to come.

Man, these things are great. Sure, the zipper front is a breeze for accessibility, but pulling them down is easy enough when nature calls. Who anyways unzips while standing waist deep in the current anyways... These waders have held up to everything Alaska had to offer that I got to experience. From bushwacking through the cow thistle and Devils club, to combat salmon fishing on the Russian river, they took a beating and still kept me dry day after day on the water. The extra features are nice - the fly patch, Tippet pocket and built in retractor and a lot of convenience. The wide belt comes in handy as well for those hot days when you feel the need to drop the chest and wear them as pants. One note, that is probably self explanatory but I learned the hard way, is that the outer zipper looks pretty waterproof... It however is not as my trusty ole phone can attest. That pocket fills with water when you are chest high faster than the waders would if you took a swim... At any rate, these things are top notch. Built in the USA and built to last.

I am 5'8", 170lb with a 30" inseam, 32" waist, and wear a size 9. The mediums fit perfectly and allow room to layer for the early morning frigid days.

    Bullet Proof waders

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The G4 waders are the single best fishing product I own. I could not be more pleased with my purchase 6 years ago.

My history with waders has not been very poor to say the least. I fish a lot and I am rough on my equipment. Equipment that is poor in quality usually does not last through the season. Before I had bit the bullet to purchase a pair of Simms waders I was going through a pair to two pairs of waders per year. Most of my fishing trips I would bring two pairs of waders that I would rotate through as I could count on one pair leaking or bursting a seam. After an ice out fishing trip where the seem in the crotch broke out I purchased a pair of Simms G4 waders. Since then I have thrown out all of my other pairs of waders.

These waders are indestructible. I have had the G4 waders for six years and still have no leaks anywhere. I am impressed by the durability of the GORE TEX fabric and the workmanship of Simms. About the half of the fishing I do is in a float tube and this kind of fishing wears on the seams of the butt of the waders. On previous pairs of waders I have broken these seems and I have been pleased how the 4 layers of GORE TEX have held up.

Other pairs of waders will be less expensive but you will have to repair them and eventually get rid of them when they fail. Simms and their GORE TEX waders will last you through many life times of other brands of waders. I review gear for GORE fishing products and I am very pleased with this purchase. If these waders ever wear out, with out hesitation I will purchase another pair.

    Deer Bait

These waders also have deer attractant properties. This friendly fawn came across the river to gimme a wet one while fishing the South Fork of the Snake River. Most waders keep you dry a while. Very few waders keep you dry longer than a few seasons, these will last many hundreds of days in the water but wait! Theres more! You wanna be classy and kiss deer? Get some G4's.

    G4's Holding Strong

Right before this photo, a honey badger tried to bight my leg, broke its tooth trying to puncture these G4's. In all seriousness, these waders have lasted me many a day in the water with me not being careful with them. Thick brush on the trail? Walk faster- theres fish to be caught. Sharp rocks where you landed your fish? Shut up and take a knee, you'd look like an idiot standing in the photo with that fish in the air! These waders are tough. No buts about it. Go fish.

    G4's Holding Strong

Nah, while pulling the Circus Peanut (yes we carry those here at BCDC) out of his mouth, the badger came barreling out of the bushes behind me. I yelled like Gump- "Something bit me!!" The badger had ma leg. The trout bent back, and you know what he did?? He bit him in the face. He was injured, injured bad. The badger hissed and snickered as it retreated back into the tall grass. The trout winked at me all sexy like, I kissed em and laid em in the water. A day for the books I tell ya...
