G4 Pro Felt Boot - Men's

Good boot

Solid, beefy, and comfortable. Let the torture test begin!

Looked great, but didn't last...

Have had about 12-15 days on these boots after getting them on closeout at a local fly shop. After only those few trips the felt peeled off the toe down to the arch and ended my day. I've had two pairs of G3's that never had even the slightest issue with the felt. I'm pretty bummed about these boots and thinking I should have gone with the trusty G3's or tried another brand. Haven't heard from warranty service yet, but hopefully can get this resolved.

Great product!

This has been the very best Wading Boot I’ve worn. You can tell by the Integrity of the design it’s going to last a long time. I was so happy with this model after purchasing the Vibram bottoms for guiding from my drift boat, I didn’t even question getting a pair of felt bottoms of the same boot for hiking slippery river banks. Thank you, Simms.

Feel great only wore them once. My season is just getting started hopefully they hold up.

Solid Wading Boot

These boots offer superior comfort and support for long days on the river. They are lightweight and fit true to size. My newest pair are my fifth in the G4 lineup, the second of this particular design. The boot is solid. Unfortunately, and this is simply a reality of felt, the boot will outlast the soles by many years !! My last pair gave me two full seasons of comfort and secure wading, midway through the third season the wear on the felt became an issue. If shipping charges weren’t such an issue for me as a Canadian customer I’d seriously consider having the felts replaced on my older boots.

Felt detached (2 different pairs)

These are great - but the felt detaches from the soles. I had one pair repaired under warranty after about 8 months of use. My replacement pair just did the same thing after about 10 months of use. While I love the boots overall - the felt connection to the boot is a design flaw.

High function with comfort.

The Truckee river is tricky because it is slick and many of the sections have odd shaped boulders littered throughout. The G4 provides unprecedented support both around the feet and ankles. The felt and stud combo provide traction necessary to get tight on holes for nymphing. The G4 does not compromise comfort for a stiff boot. I’ve fished many boots and the G4 has it all!

Cats Meow

I used to think the old Simms G3 guides were the cats meow. Wrong. The G4 pros have exceeded my expectations. The established cleat points are a game changer. The felt bottom with the cleats is an unbeatable combo. Durable and true to size, you'll have these bad boys for years to come.
