Flawed design
Powerlock lace hooks cut right in through the neoprene gravel guards on a brand new pair of G4Zs in less than 5 wears. Seems pretty ridiculous for top of the line gear that is supposedly made to work together.

Great look, great fit, bad glue.
Great fit, with horrible outsoles. One of mine delaminated completed and I have re-glued it twice. I expect a LOT more durability than 1 season. 2 months in I had to re-glue the entire toe box of one boot. The new version looks much simpler and more durable with fewer "peel-points". More akin to a quality mountaineering boot.

Felt soles fall off
If the soles stayed on I’d love them. Having to re glue them every 6-9 months using Barge cement as recommended by Simms! Ridiculous. I so regret buying these.

Really happy with how nice the boot feels to hike in to a spot. Feels very sturdy and works great on slippery rocks, even without studs.

Great boots
These boots are very nice. I really like the ankle support and the way the laces are locked in, also coupled with the hardbite cleats you have great traction on slippery rocks.

Great Boot
Purchased to replace my chota wading boots since they are heavy. When I go to Alaska for four weeks at a time, every ounce I can save in my luggage is important. Would have given the rating a five star, except the laces for the wading boots are short. Don't allow much room to tie.

Great boots with Alumibites for supreme traction
One trip in my second pair of G4 boot. Original's were to narrow 12 years ago. Both size 12. These fit great with 2 pair of socks. I'm size 10.5-11. I added the G4 alumibites. Fished the slippery San Juan rocks and was blown away at the traction. Can't believe after 49 yrs of wading and slipping I was sure footed. Only negative was one package of Alumibits only had 9 out of 10 in the package. Still 5 stars by far.
