Simms Exstream Hooded Jacket -- The color description "Dark Bronze" is accurate; the picture of a bright gold jacket is not accurate. Dark bronze is similar to brown. If you wanted to be visible, and you thought wearing a bright gold jacket would be the ticket, this is not the jacket for you. This jacket is sort of stiff and clunky fitting, and it doesn't feel soft and warm (I only tried it on inside). It certainly is not cozy like a down Arcteryx puffy. However, the clunkiness may be to allow for bulky layering underneath, like a Smartwool base layer, then a thick layer of fleece or a wool sweater, then this insulated layer on top, then a shell over that. When I reach my arms out horizontally, the sleeves ride up a little, but again maybe that is by design, so that when you reach into the water to release a fish, you don't get the sleeves wet. The reviews on the simmsfishing site rave about this jacket, but I may return it. Draw cord for waist, not for hood. I just ordered the Flylow Crowe Insulated Jacket for $25 cheaper, and I will see how it compares to the Simms Exstream jacket. I ended up returning the Simms Exstream jacket and the Flylow Crowe Insulated Jacket, as well as a few other jackets. Instead, I settled on the Patagonia Tough Puff Insulated Hooded Jacket in size XL.

Exstream hooded jacket

I purchased this jacket about a month ago and have worn it almost daily. It is a good quality jacket and the fit is good, The only complaint I have is this jacket is not the warmest puffy coat I have owned, it seems to be lacking insulation. I was on a fishing trip recently, the weather was dry and about 35 degrees and I needed another layer to stay warm.

Roomy fit and has been very warm on cold days ice fishing. Built to layer which helps for cold days.

I received this jacket a couple weeks ago, love the color and fit but the insulation is not ideal. The left sleeve of this jacket has hardly any insulation, I thought maybe during shipping it had become compressed. But even after washing cold and hang drying there is hardly any insulation in the left sleeve and the right sleeve now looks like the insulation falls towards the back of the seams as the day progresses. Would love to have this jacket with the proper amount of insulation.

Great warm jacket

Have the black medium. Light, very warm, very comfortable - doesn’t feel too bulky.

Bought for my 18 y/o son for Christmas. He said it is his favorite gift! This jacket is a great fit, lightweight, and warm. Great for fishing this time of year in TN!

I like this jacket

Very nice quality, good fit. Even the color is cool. This replaces a Patagonia Nanopuff that just wore out prematurely. The quality and finish is superior to the Patagonia. I get complements on the style and appearance.

Love it!

This jacket has quickly become one of my favorite pieces. I needed a new jacket to use while guiding on the Clearwater for Steelhead, this was exactly what I needed for those long cold days on the water. For some reason it’s showing that I ordered blue in a 3x but I ordered the gold on a large. I’m 6ft 190 lbs and it was a perfect fit.

Perfect jacket

This jacket is just what I have been looking for. I'm a Simms guy at heart and when it came time to get a new jacket this is what I bought. We've had a few cold mornings here in Colorado and I had forgotten my jacket today. My buddy let me use his and it was awesome, it's warm comfy and easy to wear. I stopped at my local fly shop on the way home and bought my own! Love it...

Great option for those that don’t need a full puff

Love it!!! Haven’t worn it much yet due to temps but the thinner puffy coat is a perfect option and it’s super comfy!!
