- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
My father owned a tree business growing up, so I grew up using an arborist's equipment on our own land. I also spent a summer working for the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp living in the woods and building trails with only hand tools, regularly felling trees to build bridges.... So it is with at least with some authority I can say - this is one of the best hand saws on the market. Tree limbs fall away quickly and easily, hardwood firewood chunks up to 8" in thickness are cut with ease, and the weight makes it no match against many of the other saws on the market. If you're looking for a great saw for home and camping alike, this is the one to get. (One small request though - if you do buy this incredible saw, or you own an axe, please don't be the jerk hacking down trees right next to popular campgrounds for firewood. Those folks are just the worst).
I have used this to cut trees, shrubs, and brush. I use it around the yard and also for miles and miles of trail work. Its as sharp as the day I bought it. I bet I've cut 200+ small trees with it over the last few months doing trail work. It carries and fold so nice. Its sharp so keep it away from your shins and fingers. Its made me bleed a few times.
