Roomy, sturdy, and easy to set-up

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This thing is awesome. Fits 4 people with room for one more or dogs/gear. It's easy/intuitive to set-up. Feels sturdy. Snow flaps work well. It will be my go-to tent for any place that doesn't have terrible bugs. Stakes are adequate but doesn't hurt to upgrade/switch based on terrain you will be camping in.

Best winter emergency shelter!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I’ve owned 3 Megamids over 30 years. I’ve winter camped in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and the high peaks region of NY. Compared to my megamid, this one is better. The snow flaps alone make it worth the extra weight! If I was running search and rescue and might have to bivouac for one or more nights, this is my new top choice. If it was Cuben fiber, I’d buy it...
