    Multi-featured and multifaceted.

The Mobile Mummy 600 Sleeping Bag from Sierra Designs has all the features you want out of a dedicated backpacking bag. The 600-fill duck DriDown combines the best of down, its warmth-to-weight ratio, with synthetic fill's ability to stay dry and still insulate when wet. A draft collar, tube and draft side curtains help to seal out the elements and preserve your body's natural heat, a must for efficiency in the backcountry. The centrally-placed, two-way zipper is easy to maneuver with either hand and can be zipped up from the bottom in order to gain some ventilation on warmer nights. Zipperless arm ports at the side allow you to wake up in the morning and make coffee, all without leaving the comfort of your sleeping bag and tent. The footbox at the bottom can be opened, letting your feet get out to breathe and cool down. Not only that, but it can be stowed up behind the bag, letting you walk around camp without dragging the bottom of the bag on the ground.

    Perfect for Rough Sleepers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you have trouble sleeping in a normal sleeping bag with your arms bound to your sides, unable to turn over or shift in the night, this is the bag for you. Because of the arm holes in the bag, it's easy to toss and turn in the night without getting the bag all twisted or sliding off the pad. And it's extremely convenient to access your water bottle or headlamp without having to unzip anything.

This bag is quite durable. I've used it for over 50 camping trips and it shows very little wear. If you are a cold sleeper like myself, I definitely don't recommend using this bag any lower than the suggested temperature because I've spent a few nights in this where I wish I had something warmer. And one especially cold nights, you can feel the cold air seeping in through the arm holes. However, this is a fair price to pay for the mobility.

The greatest thing about this bag is waking up in the morning and being able to start breakfast without having to get out of the bag. You can stick your arms through the holes and roll up the bottom of the bag to make it into a jacket that keeps you warm while you're waiting for the sun to come up.

On warmer nights, this is my go-to bag.
