Convert 2 Tent

Whether you're exploring desert canyons in the early summer or venturing into the mountains in mid-winter conditions, the Sierra Designs Convert 2 4-Season Tent will give you the shelter you need to comfortably enjoy your stay in the backcountry. With its Convert series of tents, Sierra Designs set out to develop the first true four-season tent that will function just as well in a summer environment as it would in a winter one. The result is a unique double-wall tent that avoids some of the pitfalls that make a single-wall tent less than ideal in a summer scenario.

Now redesigned with a removable fly, the tent is still constructed from a breathable canopy fabric, which helps condensation from accumulating along the interior of the tent wall. The tent is also designed to prevent spindrift and dust from entering the tent whether you're camped on a snowfield or sandy desert floor. The removable vestibule is ideal in a winter camping situation where additional storage space for gear is essential. When backpacking, the vestibule can be left back at the truck, shaving almost a whole pound off the weight of the tent. An external pitch makes the tent easier to set up, and the large waterproof window panel lets you enjoy the view from camp from the comfort of your tent.

  • True all-season performance for year-round camping comfort
  • Durable ripstop construction designed with breathability in mind
  • Fast and easy setup with plenty of space for you and your gear
  • Removable vestibule for reducing weight on longer adventures
  • Fully removable fly means more comfortable summer camping
  • Waterproof window and fully sealed seams for winter protection
  • Interior mesh pockets can stash headlamp, book, or gloves
  • Item #SDS009J

Practical, Functional & Durable

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very pleased with this tent! SD has done a fantastic job making a durable and efficient 2-man tent. Whether I'm out solo, with a buddy, or with my girlfriend and doggo, this tent has always kept us warm and dry in the mountains, river canyons and high deserts of the interior PNW. It is simple to set up, and the "Burrito Bag" is a brilliant design for when the time comes to pack-up. Even during early spring rainstorms, the tent hasn't ever experienced condensation issues on the inside due to the great cross-flow which can be achieved with both vents open. The material is surprisingly tough and every component seems thoroughly designed and engineered. I've had it for two years, and I'm confident I will get many more years out of it. Maybe not the lightest in the world, but close enough for me!

Awesome Desert/Mountain Tent

This has become my go to winter desert trip tent. Without the fly it still becomes waterproof and keeps you a bit warmer. This tent is the only reason I've been able to get my gf to camp in the winter

Is the vestibule included? Or I have to buy the vestibule seperately? Thank you.
