Sleep like you're at home.
There's no need to have to zip your sleeping bags together anymore thanks to the Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo 700 20 Degree Down. Its plush down insulation keeps you warm and cozy through the night, while the foot vent allows you to let some of that warm air out if things get too toasty. The half-zipper design acts like a comforter, making it easy to get in and out without disturbing your partner. And, in order to minimize the likelihood of you or your partner slipping off the sleeping pad in the middle of the night, Sierra Designs incorporated a built-in pad sleeve into the sleeping bag.

Little details make it stand out
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
We were given this product from Backcountry, but this review is our personal opinion. The Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo suited us perfectly. At first we were skeptical about sharing a sleeping bag, but we fell in love with it after the first use. We share a bed and comforter at home, so why not while camping right?! It has a temperature rating of 20°F, which should work for at least 3 seasons of camping in Utah. We have used it twice now, once in a tent and once in the back of our SUV. With a nightly low of about 40°F, we were warm enough inside the bag with just shorts and a t-shirt. The zipper-less design makes it easy to get in and out of, and the hand pockets are great for holding the bag snug up to your face or chin. Being side and stomach sleepers, we appreciated the ability to extend our arms above our heads and still have them covered by the top pocket of the bag. It's little details like this that really elevate this bag's comfort level. Sometimes we all need a break from the single sleeping bags that can make us feel like constrained mummies. As 2 averaged-size men (husbands), we had plenty of room and stayed plenty warm. If we got too warm, we stuck our feet out of the foot vent at the bottom of the bag, very cool feature. Most of us have to stick one leg or foot out of the bag to regulate body temperature, and we've never owned a bag that made it so easy to do. While this may not be the ideal backpacking sleeping bag because of its size, the Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed Duo sure will be perfect for all your car, lake and weekend camping needs!
This allows for nothing to change
Common school of thought is that when you have kids, it changes everything. While this is true in many ways, the new addition to the fold doesn't have to change your habit for sleeping under the stars.
It's not necessary to neglect your obligations to the mountains when raising your offspring. You just have to find ways to include them into what you already love to do. The duo bag has been a great convenience and a space saver for car camping and overnight trips alike since the arrival of our plus 1. The Duo 700 bag has thus far fit two adults and a petite toddler in comfort and style.
I can see it being a staple in the car camp kit even when the kid out grows it. It tetris' into the hatchback quite nicely and again, is a nice space saver relative to a pair of single sleep sacks, which leaves room for other gear, or an extra cooler.
I would recommend this bag to anyone that has even the remotest excuse to add it to their gear closet.
