    Revolutionizing sleeping bags.

Experience comfortable camping at its finest when you head out in the wilderness with the revolutionary Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed 800 Sleeping Bag. Free from extraneous (and heavy) hardware like bulky zippers and drawcords, this intuitive bag features an oval-shaped opening with an integrated comforter that helps it adapt to variable temperatures. You can tuck the comforter's sides snugly beneath you and stay warm in temps as low as 30° F, or you can pull the comforter out for the warmer nights. Its unique mummy design allows you to sleep on your stomach or side as well as your back, which is excellent because most mummy bags only let you sleep comfortably on your back. Sierra Designs stuffed this bag with lofty 800-fill duck insulation that has an excellent weight-to-warmth ratio so you don't have much weight on your back when you head out on a backpacking trip, and the insulation has Sierra Design's proprietary DriDown insulation that's water-resistant and dries faster than untreated down.

Sierra Designs built the Backcountry Bed's shell out of ripstop for durability and the liner out of taffeta for your comfort. This bag also features insulated pockets for your arms so you never wake up in the middle of the night because your hand slipped out of the bag and is slowly chilling. There's also an integrated sleeve for your sleeping pad so you never roll off of it during the night and wake up on the rocky ground. This sleeping bag is light and compressible enough for backpacking and warm enough for chilly nights.

    very nice

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i love the no zipper idea and also I love how the sleeping pad slips into the bottom. no more getting all tangled up in the night. its so comfy and it stuffs into its sack really easy. Im 5'9" and I got the large because I like room. This is how a bag should be.

    Toss and Turn!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Do you move around alot while you sleep ? Do you easily overheat? This sleeping bag is the the jam for both of those reasons! Love that Sierra Designs took a whole new approach to the sleeping bag design. Super comfortable and incredibly versatile.

    Ditch that ol fashioned Mummy!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Seriously, this bag has been the best sleep I have ever had out in the wild. I can finally cover my arms, shoulders, and face how and where I want. The quilt on top is ingenious in its design and deserves praise. This has saved me from sleepless nights of wanting the sun to come up just so I am not laying there.

So far after 3 nights in this guy I can say this will be my go to style forever. The foot vent is the 2nd best idea in this bag. I'm a hot sleeper so the foot vent is a must. The material and the Dri Down compresses incredibly small. I'm in love with this so far. Will update once I have more nights in it.

I paired this bag with the Nemo Cosmo Insulated Air pad. 25"

Does this new Sierra Designs bag have down...

Does this new Sierra Designs bag have down on the bottom or is it more like the semi-rectangular Big Agnes bags that have nothing on the bottom except for the sleeping pad.

    Hey Luke,

Like the BA bags there is no down underneath the integrated system but what makes this bag different is that the sleeve is only under the shoulders and body while the legs get to move freely. So from about the waist down you get down back underneath the bag.
