Sky's the limit.
Sky blue Sidis have gotten a good bit of TV time over the past couple of years courtesy of the efforts of one very skinny Briton on cycling's biggest stage. The Sidi Wire Push Team Sky Limited Edition Men's Shoes let you get on board that baby blue power train with a burst of stylish wattage and perhaps more motivation for speed. With the new Wire Push Shoes, Sidi pushes the industry forward with a more refined take on the low-profile, clean-lined, and race-proven Wire design.
The Wire Push Shoes ride securely with Sidi's Tecno 3 Push fastener. Like its predecessor, the Tecno-3 Push system involves two ratcheting dials, Sidi's proprietary, non-stretch wire, and a customizable fit at the instep and forefoot. The Push in the shoes' title refers to the incorporation of a tempting little red button on the buckles' faces that, when temptation overcomes restraint, releases the ratchet's lever for quick adjustment, saving you the onerous task of flipping the lever up yourself. At ride's end, pinching two release buttons on either side of the dial loosens the wire. As with all of Sidi's fastening hardware, you can easily fiddle with the Tecno 3 Push buckles in the saddle.
The Wire also sees a return of Sidi's superlative vented carbon fiber sole. It shares the same construction method that Sidi developed with its Carbon Lite sole, yet relegates the "Lite" model to the heavy bin by losing an additional 38 grams in the process. The weight loss may be due to the negative space of the vents, which shuttle cooling air into interior channels. The vent can be opened or closed depending on the temperature and your preferences — even in the middle of a ride.
Despite the weight savings and ventilation, the Wire Push soles have the same stiffness and confident power transfer you've grown to expect from Sidi, and they've also got a bit of forgiving flex for your toes while you're awkwardly clop-clopping around on the coffee shop's stained concrete floor during a mid-ride espresso break.
Also returning from previous top-shelf offerings is Sidi's improved Heel Security System (or HSS), which keeps your foot positively planted in the shoe. It involves a rigid, composite band that can be tightened or loosened with an allen key to adjust the amount of play you allow your heels. The shoe's tongue and instep strap have both been padded generously to allow for supreme comfort with tight buckles. The upper is made from perforated Microfibre Techpro, a synthetic material that has become a staple of our cycling shoe line-up since it became a signature component of Sidi's venerable shoes. Finally, all of the buckles, wires, outsole lugs, and heel retention devices are fully replaceable.

Sky Blue Shoe
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 46
- Height: 5'11"
- Weight: 175lbs
I ride 35-65 miles typically spirited club rides. I have ridden these about 10 times. I have a boarder line wide foot. One of my feet is about 1/2 size different than the other. The wires allow me to snug them up so they fit without the heel moving. There is also a heel adjustment screw to help the fit. I have not needed it. The shoes are TEAM SKY BLUE, which matches my Pinarello and look great. You will get comments wearing these shoes. The foot bed is much better than the ones that came with my 2008 Sidi's which these shoes replaced. I needed no insole replacement. These fit SO much better than my old ones. The down side is the wire adjuster is not that easy to adjust while riding. Also the blue is a veneer over a white substrate. If you ever rub the front of the shoe on you front tire while rolling in a parking lot, it can run the blue veneer off. I did that on my 3rd ride with these and now I have a white spot on the lower front of the shoe. I'll fix it with nail polish or tell people I scraped it running up Mont Ventoux.
Great for Running!
Awesome as a cycling shoe, but often overlooked as a great alpine tarmac running shoe.
The ONLY road shoe!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 45.5
- Height: 6'2"
- Weight: 195lbs
These are my third pair of Sidi shoes. They are absolutely the BEST! They are comfortable and of the highest quality. The wire closure system is a great improvement over the ergo 2 single wire closure. They come in half sizes, too. The sweet Team Sky color is a bonus. As I ride most of the year in hot weather, the venting is, also, an improvement. Spend the $ and get yourself a pair of Sidi shoes. Hardware is replaceable so you can expect many years of service.
