    Set your trail riding ablaze.

Ignite your riding with the foot-conforming fit and seamless power transfer of the Sidi Men's Dragon 4 Shoe. As its name suggests, the Dragon 4 breathes life into your off-road riding and racing pursuits with its head-turning aesthetics and superb fitment. Sidi's Microfiber Tech Pro wraps your feet in a supremely supple microfiber that's highly resistant to abrasion and outside moisture. Dialing in a micro-adjustable fit, the Soft Instep 3 strap conforms to your foot with its soft, anatomically curved strap of thermo-formed EVA for pressure-free comfort. Sidi's Tecno 3 buckles cinch a non-binding wire tightly to eliminate excess movement from sapping energy to the pedals.

The Dragon 4 transfers pedaling into forward locomotion with its SRS Carbon Sole, which uses carbon-reinforced nylon for maximum efficiency. This aggressively lugged sole retains sure-footed grip when you're forced to dismount over hike-a-bike sections. And like all of Sidi's SRS soles, grippy traction lugs are replaceable after you've worn them out. Another stand-out feature is Sidi's adjustable heel retention system, which prevents your heel from lifting under hard acceleration and sudden climbing bursts. Rounding out this excellent shoe, the reinforced toe takes a substantial beating without succumbing to premature wear.

Sidi Still the Brand to Beat

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 44
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 200lbs

Admittedly, I’m a Sidi loyalist. Got my first pair in 1995, and the times I’ve strayed into other shoe brands have led to disappointment.

Brannock devices put my feet at just over 10.5 American, D width, and I’m in a 44 Sidi, regardless of the model or generation. I do replace the stock insole with something that stabilizes my arch, and that probably keeps my foot from elongating under pressure. After the material conforms to my feet during the first 20 minutes of a ride and I’ve locked in the dials to level of secureness I prefer, my toes are pulled back away enough to the point that there isn’t contact with the front of the shoe. Thick socks during cold weather change this, but I’m rarely out long enough during those circumstances to consider it an issue.

In the year since I’ve purchased these from Competitive Cyclist, I’ve raced in a dozen MTB XC and marathon races, as well as a 7 or 8 cyclocross races to go along with all the adventure/fun rides involving the inevitable hike a bike/pushing of high altitude. In Colorado, so it’s a dry climate, so I’m sure that has a positive effect. The point? I’d say they are in pretty good shape for a year old.

Functionally, everything works as promised. Heel adjustment holds that in place quite effectively, and once the dials are set after the warm up period, I rarely have to make another adjustment, which is key, as it’s not going to happen easily during a race. The Velcro across the forefoot works as well as can be expected and at one year old, I do have to be a little deliberate when making that adjustment to ensure it stays in place. I’ve replaced the soles, and there are some stitches that are loose, but in a place that indicates a result of abrasion, not defectiveness.

Pretty sure I’m getting my money’s worth and next year, I’ll be getting another pair.

    Great shoes, Great Price!

    • Fit: Runs large

These shoes were on sale a couple of month's ago. I have been wearing Sidi shoes on Road, CX and MTB since 1997. I have always loved the shoes and had great wear out of them. A few years ago they started making them a little larger but after that learning curve, all is good again. I have some back-up Sidi shoes that are 8 years old that I now wear on bad weather days. Can't go wrong with Sidi or Competitive Cyclist.

    Garbage Shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had these shoes for 3 weeks and they are already falling apart. The sole looks like it's been through a meat grinder and one of the uppers has a tear in the side. For a $400 shoe this is ridiculous! I expected a lot more quality for the price. This will be my last Sidi product ever purchased. I also can't tell if there's any kind of warranty because none of the literature is in english. Thanks CC!

    Perfect fit, great cx shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 46
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 174lbs

Great fit for my feet, heel retention system makes dialing in easy. Love the yellow color it's a true beautiful color! The tongue cushion is best in the business, very comfortable. Coming from the Mavic Fury shoes, I broke a couple of treads of the bottom, with Sidi everything is replaceable!

    Good for my feet

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 41.5
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 150lbs

First of all, the yellow is glorious. It's not fluoro like the newer shoes. Just bright, look at me yellow.

My previous Dominators were 42 and fit well. I sized down to 41.5 from 42. The Dragons felt longer and wider. I'm a 41.5 in specialized as well.

They feel stiff and hold your foot well, especially the heel cup. I prefer having more adjustment since my feet are somewhat wide at the toe. Finding shoes that fit properly has been difficult because of this, but the Dragons hit the spot for me. I can loosen the Velcro to relax the fit while still keeping the rest of the shoe tight.

    Nitpicks:

The adjustment dials are garbage compared to Boa. You really do have to give the shoe a few minutes to warm up before the final tightening. So you have to leave the lever flipped up to make adjustments on the fly. It's difficult to distinguish it from the rest of the dial while riding, especially with gloves on. And this leaves them exposed to damage from rocks, trees, and crashing.

The sole is minimally protected and can be a bit slippery on wet wood. But, they don't look out of place with your roadie friends for those of us who use MTB pedals for everything.

Overall I love them and am super happy after the first few hundred miles.

    Worst Sidi shoes wver

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 42.5
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I have had the Dominator, Dragon, and Dragon 2's, and the Dragon 4 does not come close to matching them. It is totally uncomfotable, has very little side support, and it is raw carbon between the cleat area and heel of the shoe so if you have to step on a peddle midfoot it slides right off. I've have worn them 3 months now and the soles are destroyed as well. These shoes are a complete dissapointment. There are diffinetly not mountain bike shoes.

    Another top shoe from Sidi

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 43
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 145lbs

These new Dragon 4 shoes are near perfect. Comfortable, easy to walk in, and easy to adjust on the bike. Another winner from Sidi. The only brand of cycling shoe for me.
