Great Shoes for the MTB

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

True to size

I had a an older pair of Sidi shoes and wanted to get a new pair. I knew my size and the Sidi chart is spot on. Normally a 46 in European sizing but with Sidi I need to go up one full size to 47 normally a size 12 US. The dual BOA system has worked great and seems to make the upper conform better to my foot than the velcro system on my older shoes. Shoes vent really well being here in the high desert is a must and my high arch insoles fit perfectly. They fit perfect right out of the box with zero break in.

I replaced my worn out dominator 7 style Sidis with the 10 model. I think the dual tightening mechanism system is worth the extra $ over the dominator 7’s. By the time my old pair reached the end of their useful life, the Velcro was pretty gone. The tightening mechanism on the 10 model takes a little time to put on, but the adjustment is very precise. Exiting is fast. The 10 model is made in Italy, great fit. Size 45 fit my US size 11 feet just right.

Hey Scott, Thanks for the great review! Happy to hear that you're loving the shoes.

very comfortable, very roomy, the adjustments on them are easy to use and the simple color combination that Sidi continues to use are appealing.

Better walking than distance cycling shoe. Much, much softer than I am used to from Sidi's other top end road and Mt. biking shoes (I love my Shot-Vent road shoes), all of which are pretty stiff to start with, but you really appreciate how well they fit and how well a stiff sole serves you after 75+ miles. These have significantly softer soles, so you feel the cleat/pedal after 20 miles or so. The uppers are also much softer and more compliant. I think if I were mixing a fair amount of runing and walking with my riding, I'd probably appreciate those qualities more.

great shoe for narrower feet

Shopped a few sizes of Shimano and could not get the length dialed in correctly. My foot is narrow and the sizing is a little different than expected. The Sidi's fit perfectly. They are a little taller in the toebox than I expected but not as large as the Specialized shoes they replaced. Width is perfect for narrow feet. I have found I need to loosen the lower straps to prevent pain in the ball of my foot and circulation issues. So snug, but not too snug. I am still getting used to the give these have in the toes. Previous shoes had solid carbon fiber lasts. These seem to flex right above the cleat mounts. This makes the shoes great for walking but they might flex under power and might be the source of discomfort on long rides over 40 miles. Still getting used to them in week two and adjusting the cleat position a bit to see if it helps.

Better than Dominator 7 but fit the same

Been riding with a pair of Sidi Dominator 7's for the last 1.5 years. They really fit well but I did not care for the velcro and the ratchet strap mechanism for the top closure just would not get tight enough for me and was a pain to work with sometime. Decided to try a pair of Dominator 10's, hoping they fit the same. Absolutely love them and they fit exactly the same! The tension system works extremely well and has plenty of room to get them as tight as I want. No fiddling with velcro that tended to come open or ratchets. You will not be disapointed.
