If you're of the opinion that the point of a trail shoe is to get the hell kicked out of it, then the Sidi women's Buvel Shoes may have your number. Instead of the carbon bedazzling and gee-golly doodads of shoes designed for coffee shop preening, the women's Buvel Shoes distill Sidi's myriad off-road technologies down to their purist, most effectively simple form.
The women's Buvel incorporates three key features to produce a functional, durable ride: the Competition Sole, a reinforced heel cup, and the classic Sidi ratcheting buckle. The sole is made from nylon, which dampens trail chatter while ensuring efficient power transfer. The forefoot also provides some targeted flex for more comfortable walking and run-ups. There are also two optional toe spike attachment points to provide additional traction when sloppy turns sloppier. The heel cup and ratcheting buckle make for a secure fit system, and the hook-and-loop straps and stretch-resistant synthetic uppers keep the fit dialed where you want it.
- A mountain bike shoe built for kicking trail
- Synthetic sole transmits watts but limits chatter
- Sidi's classic closure system never goes out of style

SIDI Buvel Shoes
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
Sidi shoes are one of the best brands out there. I have worn my road shoes for 6 years and they are still sturdy and holding up. My road ones are a size 39 and I previously ordered a 39 in the MTB shoes and they were too small. I exchanged them for a size 40 and they fit perfectly.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I bought these shoes last season and they are my go to cycling shoes. They are very comfortable on metric century rides and shorter rides. They are a great color and I have received lots of compliments on them from both women and men. I am considering purchasing another to put away for the future.
Should I be able to wear a size 40 womens in this shoe if I have been wearing a size 40 mens in the sidi dominator and eagle or should I size up in the womens? My 40s are just a tad small - they are old and my feet seem to be slightly bigger than years ago - but am afraid a 41 might be too big. The small heel in the womans shoe is appealing, for sure. Any advice is appreciated!
