    Short Stack Helmet

We've all got that one line that intimidates us, that we second-guess ourselves on, or fully take the easier route to avoid confronting it at all. We tell ourselves that maybe we're just not ready for it, but maybe — just maybe, what we really need is an extra boost of confidence in the form of protection, so toss on the Shred Optics Short Stack Helmet, and shred that line with confidence. The Short Stack is built for all-mountain, trail, and enduro riding, and features Shred's exceptionally light SLYTECH honeycomb-cone structure impact foam. This structure is designed to intelligently adapt to impacts, and when paired with Shred's Rotational Energy System, or RES for short, you'll find an unparalleled synergy between the two to combat both linear and rotational forces. Shred claims that RES scales in at both the lightest, and thinnest solution for addressing rotational hits currently on the market, and while we haven't put that to the test, we're all for making our helmet systems a little more on the featherweight side, especially when it doesn't come at the cost of our security. The Short Stack doesn't end with its tech-packed protection though, it also utilizes 20 strategically placed vents to help keep you cool, and XT2 pads that use silver to provide permanent odor control, so you can feel fresh after a day of berm-blasting.

    Looks Good, Feels Good!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I don't know about you, but looking good in a helmet is almost as important as it's level of protection. This helmet is so cute and is actually so comfortable! I would wear this mountain biking all day and I would sometimes forget I was even wearing it. I got the S/M helmet and it fit perfectly. The spin dial system in the back is perfect to get a snug fit and for the helmet to feel secure. Definitely my favorite bike helmet I've worn!

    Great Helmet

So I accidentally grabbed a L/XL even though I usually wear a S/M but ended up keeping it because i needed it for a Moab biking trip. The turn dial was awesome, I was able to just twist it tight and it fit great! Didn't have to test how it holds up in a fall but it is light weight and cute so that's good enough for me.

      So light and comfortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This helmet is lightweight and easy to adjust, I never had to fiddle with it at all during any ride. It was super breathable once I started to get hot and I never had to worry about it. Luckily I never had to see how well it would protect my melon in a fall, but this helmet made me confident that I was protected.

      Happy Head

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was able to demo this helmet on a MTB trip and it worked really well! It fit great (xs/m), was light weight, breathable, and comfortable too. I came home happy and with my head in one piece.

      Ease and Confidence

I've put a lot of different helmets on this year, and I will go ahead and agree with a few reviews already posted. The fit was right M/XL, the weight (didn't even know it was on when I started pedaling) The vent system is spot on with 20, all in all, I loved it, I would recommend to my friends, and it is what I am going with moving forward, thanks Shred!

        Great Helmet

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been fortunate enough to demo this helmet a handful of times now and have been pleasantly satisfied each time. Let me put it this way, I have no recollection of ever thinking anything about my helmet at all during any ride I took it on. In my book, that's a huge win. It's lightweight, it breaths, and the visor is extremely useful. I've got a big ass head and wore the M-XL size and it worked perfectly.

        lightweight and comfy!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Tried out this helmet in Moab on a mtb trip. lightweight, not too hot. Simple and not confusing to fuss with. Worked great for someone clumsy like me.

Maybe it's me, but comfort is lacking

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this helmet for a few months. There are some great things, and other things not so great.

It's light. Looks good. The rotational energy system seems like it's a good feature, fortunately have not had to test that yet.

For me, the comfort is lacking. I will admit that when I went to their site, I was kind of in a "no mans land" for sizing, their sizing is different from the GIRO/Bell or POC sizing when it comes to the ranges. I bought the M/Xl, normally I'm M in other brands. The XS/M size seemed small to me.

First time out, I had an action camera mounted to the top of the helmet. It kept slipping forward on me, even though I tightened the straps and the dial, and put in the thicker pads. Even without the mounted camera, each ride it seems like I'm constantly adjusting the helmet out of the sight. The other thing that has annoyed me is the pad on the back, where the dial is, seems to be an issue, mid-ride the pad has moved and the hard plastic is digging into my head.

I know for some, certain brands of helmets don't work. This is the case for me. Be aware that if you are a M in Bell/GIRO, you may find yourself between sizes with the Shred.

        Perfect trail helmet

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet is extremely comfortable and well fitting for your cross country or trail rides. I was very impressed with the fit and all the technology Shred uses with their rotational energy system in all of their helmets.
